Undefeated WBA Welterweight Champion Miguel Cotto will host an open media workout in Caguas, Puerto Rico today, Friday, July 18. This will be Cotto’s final day working out in preparation for “The Battle!”, the four-bout pay-per-view extravaganza headlined by Cotto’s world title defense in a thrilling matchup against two-time world welterweight champion Antonio Margarito.
Promoted by Top Rank, “The Battle!” will take place Saturday, July 26, 2008 at the MGM Grand Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.
Cotto, 32-0 (26), from Caguas, Puerto Rico, a two-division world champion, has successfully defended his welterweight title four times since winning it in December 2006. Margarito, 36-5 (26), from Tijuana, Mexico, is 9-1 in world welterweight championship bouts.
