Kenny "The Emerald City Assasin" Ellis, 35-5-3 (24). will face The Contender star David Banks, 15-4-1 (2), on a Showtime Championship Boxing card, Saturday, August 2, 2008.
After a three year layoff, Ellis, made a comeback at the Emerald Queen Casino "Battle at the Boat" Boxing series on June 28, 2008 with a knockout over Jonathan Corn.
"This is another great opportunity for Kenny," said Ellisʼs promoter Brian Halquist, "Kenny is progressing very well. We are excited to see how far Kenny can go."
The Ellis vs. Banks fight is part of the Showtime Championship Boxing card where Dimitri Kirilov, 29-3-1 (9), will defend his IBF world title against once beaten former IBF Flyweight Champion Vic Darchinyan, 29-1-1 (23).
The World Championship Boxing card is promoted by Brian Halquist Productions, Inc., Gary Shaw Productions and Gotham Boxing Inc. Tickets are $75, $50 and $35.
