Golden Boy Promotions is deeply saddened to announce the loss of Jorge Barrios Jr., the son of junior lightweight contender Jorge “La Hiena” Barrios and his wife Laura, who passed away Wednesday two hours after a premature birth in Argentina.
“Jorge is not only a Golden Boy fighter, but he’s one of the family, and this news has devastated all of us,” said Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar De La Hoya. “Our thoughts and prayers are with Jorge, Laura, and the entire Barrios family, and we are 100% behind them in this difficult time.”
