The Cebu Waterfront Hotel and Casino in Cebu City last night was the site of wins by WBO Minimumweight ruler Donnie Nietes and WBO Intercontinental Super Bantam boss Rey Bautista.
Nietes, 23-1-3 (14), won his tenth in a row by crushing Nicaraguan visitor Eddy Castro, 12-4-1 (9), in the second round, retaining his WBO belt for the first time.
"Boom-Boom" Bautista, 26-1 (19), won his third in a row following a failed title bid last year to unseat WBO Champ Daniel Ponce De Leon by finishing off Mexico's Eden Marquez, 16-4-3 (12), in the second frame.
