Former Boxing Champion Terry Dunstan Joins Forces With Heavyweight Big Dave Howe

By Boxing Press October 2nd, 2008 All Press Releases

With just over a week to go before former European and British Cruiserweight Champion Terry Dunstan makes his return to the ring, things are going according to plan.

Dunstan is sparring with heavyweight "Big" Dave Howe and Billy Boyle and they are both confident that the cruiserweight will make a great impact when he boxes in Sheffield on October 10, 2008.

Speaking about his friend, Howe said, 'Terry has taught me so much since he came out, not just about boxing but about the right and wrong way to carry myself, he is still the great fighter that he was nine years ago, I really think he can do something special.'

Dunstan is banking on the idea that he can return to the sport after sitting on the sidelines. 'This old boy can still have a go, people talk about me being 40, I'm not 40 I'm 39,' said the former world title challenger.

Team Dunstan is confident but the ring will tell its own story on the 10th of October, it seems the British title could once again be held by the 6ft 4inch tall Londoner in the not too distant future.

On a related note, 6ft 7inch heavyweight Howe has been lucky enough to have found a supporter in E-Media Designs owner Lee Westley, who runs http://www.emedia-design.co.uk/

Speaking yesterday Lee said, 'Boxing isn't just about getting in the ring, it is a business, and business is about a professional look, branding if you like. I am happy to support Dave and his quest in the professional ring.'

Work will begin on Howe's website in the next few weeks and Westley is excited about getting involved. A big boxing fan, Westley feels that more pro fighters should be supported by local businesses, especially when they are starting out.

'It is hard enough training three times a day, 52 weeks a year, many of these lads have to work full time jobs as well as keeping up with their work in the gym, it doesn't have to cost much and most of these lads are grateful for the small gestures, not always the big ones.'

Initially, work will begin on the website which will hold information on Howe, his training and his bouts, with news and views from Team Howe, videos and photos.

A press release will announce when the site is up and running.
