Former Navy man and current IBF Cruiserweight Champion Steve ‘USS’ Cunningham will be the subject of an interview on The Philadelphia Boxing Report show which will be broadcast live to American servicemen around the globe on A.F.B. (America’s Freedom Broadcast) Radio today.

Cunningham, who defends his crown against former WBC Light Heavyweight Champion Tomasz ‘Polish Warrior’ Adamek, 35-1 (24), at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on Thursday, December 11, 2008, started his boxing career whilst in the Navy and he firmly believes that the disciplines learned whilst serving as an aircraft refueler aboard the USS America and the USS Enterprise in the mid ‘90s, were the springboard to his success as a professional prize fighter and in life.

Cunningham, a true patriot and so proud to have served his country, said of the opportunity to broadcast to American servicemen and women around the globe, "I'm really looking forward to talking with Michael from Philadelphia Boxing Report again. I have such an admiration for the young men and women serving our country. Many already know, that I started boxing in the Navy, so any opportunity to get to connect with those enlisted, I jump at the chance. I hope to visit some bases in the future, but being able to reach out via radio is a great start and truly an honor."

Cunningham is in good company. Past guests on the Philadelphia Boxing Report show include: Vladimir Klitschko, Burt Sugar, Al Bernstein, Larry Merchant, Evander Holyfield, Roy Jones, Ray Boom Boom Mancini, Manny Stewart, Lou DiBella, Tim Witherspoon, Chazz Witherspoon, Bernard Hopkins, Bob Arum and many many more.

Mike Cassell, the host of the Philadelphia Boxing Report, spoke briefly about the show, saying, “The show is my way of giving back after the death of my cousin during the 911 attacks. I do it for the men and women who love freedom and serve our country, and for those who love boxing like I do.

"IBF Cruiserweight Champion Steve Cunningham is arguably one of the most technically proficient fighters to come out of the fighting city of Philadelphia in 20 years. Getting the least amount of attention, Cunningham has fought his way through the toughest competition in the world, and will be getting a chance to showcase his ability to boxing fans in America who are hungry for a true American champion.”

“Steve will once again be a guest on the Philadelphia Boxing Report this Sunday at 10:15 AM. We will discuss his domination of the cruiserweight division, his military background, his faith in God and family, and his upcoming battle with a true tested warrior in Adamek."

The Philadelphia Boxing Report show airs on AFB radio - www.afbradio.us/afbstream.php - between 10 am and 2pm (EST) every Sunday

The IBF Cruiserweight Championship title fight between Champion Steve ‘USS’ Cunningham and challenger Tomasz ‘Polish Warrior’ Adamek is co-promoted by Main Events and Don King Productions and will take place at The Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on Thursday, December 11, 2008.

Tickets priced at $303, $153, $78, $53, $38 are on sale now and can be purchased at The Prudential Center box office or by calling Ticketmaster on 201-507-8900.
