Khan: “I’m Still an Amateur.”

By Boxing Press February 24th, 2005 All Boxing News

Amir Khan held a press conference today in England discussing the status of his boxing career. Khan insisted that despite a barrage of press reports hinting at his imminent turn to the professional ranks of the sport, he will remain in the amateurs for the foreseeable future. However, Khan did not deny that his family and representatives were in discussion with promoters over a potential crossover into the paid ranks sometime in the future. Khan recently pulled out of an ABA fight card due to only receiving ten tickets for his fans to come and watch him fight. Khan is now looking to fight again an amateur card soon. We will keep you updated to further developments regarding the possibility of Khan's transition into the professional game. Until then, stay tuned to SaddoBoxing.com for the best boxing news and original content for FREE.
