The IBF sent a letter to their super middleweight world champion Lucian Bute congratulating him on his victory on October 24 at the Montreal Bell Centre against mandatory challenger Librado Andrade.
The letter mentions that Lucian Bute has now fulfilled his mandatory obligation for the year and can defend his title voluntarily. InterBox is already working on the next few opponents for Lucian, who is currently vacationing in Romania.
The IBF will determine shortly the two fighters who will participate in an IBF Elimination bout in the168 lb division. The winner of such bout will be Lucian's next mandatory challenger.
Formal Notice sent to Howard Grant: On Wednesday, November 5, InterBox sent a formal notice to Librado Andrade's trainer, Howard Grant, giving him 48 hours to retract the false and defamatory allegations he publicly made towards InterBox.
Howard Grant suggested that the IBF, the Quebec Athletic Commission and the referee for the fight were controlled by InterBox. He also added that InterBox representatives were "liars".
The InterBox team will discuss matters internally over the next few weeks in the event Howard Grant refuses to retract such statements.
