Women’s Boxing Star Mia St. John To Be Honored In Mexico

On Mexican Revolution Day, November 20, 2008, Mia Rosales St. John will be honored in Zacatecas, Mexico by Governor Amalia Garcia Medina, for her role in sports.

Mia’s family is from Zacatecas and says she is honored to take part in this event and hopes to be an inspiration to the women of Zacatecas as the Governor herself has been.

The following day on November 21, 2008, The Mia Rosales St. John “El Saber Es Poder” Foundation event will be in Juchipila, Zacatecas, Mexico.

“El Saber Es Poder” and The Micron Foundation will be donating 20 brand new computers and an internet capability to the school, Iganacio Allende, in Zacatecas.

St. John chose Iganacio Allende because it is the very school her mother Socorro Rosales attended nearly 60 years ago.
