Hayemaker Boxing: “Haymaker 3″ Hits Rotherham

By Boxing Press November 21st, 2008 All Press Releases

Hayemaker Boxing rolls into Rotherham on Sunday, November 30 as The Consort Hotel plays host to a three-bout bill presented by Dave Coldwell.

The intimate "Hayemaker 3" show will feature fast-rising welterweight Curtis Woodhouse, hard-hitting middleweight Patrick Maxwell and cruiserweight John Anthony. All appear in non-title bouts and all promise to deliver explosive action.

Former pro footballer Woodhouse, unbeaten in his eight-bout boxing career, looks to keep ticking over before a standout 2009.

“Whoever’s holding the British title in two years better watch out because I’m coming for them,” states the 28-year-old Woodhouse, 8-0 (4) as a pro.

“I’ve sacrificed a lot to get where I am now and I won’t stop until I get what I want. I gave up a well-paid job as a footballer to do this thing and it’s out of love and a desire to succeed. I’m not going to cut corners; I’m not going to give up. This is it for me. Failure isn’t an option. I can’t wait to step things up next year.”

Similarly determined is 29-year-old Maxwell, a pro for over 10-years. Undoubtedly talented, the Sheffield-based Maxwell is now looking to finally fulfil his potential following a stop-start career.

”I know I have the ability to beat a lot of the top fighters in Britain and Europe,” says Maxwell, 14-2 (11). “There comes a point when you have to stop thinking those things and saying those things and just knuckle down and prove it. That’s where I see myself right now. It’s time to go out there and prove just how good I am.”

Hayemaker’s Head of Boxing Dave Coldwell is excited by the November 30 menu and guarantees a special kind of atmosphere on the night.

“Curtis has already sold around 150 tickets and the venue only holds 340 people,” says Coldwell. “There are only a handful of tickets left and I’m sure it’s going to be an electric atmosphere on November 30.

"Curtis, Patrick and John always bring it and are very rarely involved in bad fights. This is a value for money, three-fight show that does exactly as it says on the tin.”

Tickets for "Hayemaker 3" in Rotherham are priced at £26 and can still be purchased by calling 07799 456 400.
