Middleweight Bastie “The Beast” Samir continued his march through the East Coast with a thundering first round TKO win over Antonio Fanning on Saturday night in Atlanta, GA.
Starting with his trademark bazooka-like jab, Samir found his target continuously throughout the first stanza. Breaking down his opponent's defense, Samir rained down with a barrage of punches on the battered Fanning before the bout was called to a halt at the 2:57 mark.
The win moves Samir to 2-0, both wins coming by way of first round knockouts. The 2008 Ghana Olympic Team Captain made his pro debut by stopping Marvin Blair on November 8 in York, PA.
Currently living and training in the boxing capital of Las Vegas, Samir is guided by award winning manager, Cameron Dunkin and promoter Chet Koerner, President of TKO Boxing Promotions. He is trained by John Rajala.
Said Dunkin, “This is just the beginning for 'The Beast'. Next year will be huge as he moves forward. We’ve taken the wraps off and will unleash him on boxing fans across the country.
“He’s the future of the middleweight division," said Koerner. "With the power he has in both hands and his excellent defense, there is no ceiling for Bastie.”
Details on Samir’s next bout will be announced shortly.
