Promoter Jimmy Burchfield today announced that his company, Classic Entertainment & Sports, Inc., has signed USBA super middleweight champion Yusef Mack (18-0-2, 11 KOs) to a promotional contract. Mack, 26, is rated No. 14 by the International Boxing Federation. He captured the USBA title in October with an eighth-round TKO of Shannon Miller and made his first title defense last Friday night in Las Vegas, winning a 12-round unanimous decision (119-109, 119-109, 118-110) against Richard Grant. A typically tough Philadelphia fighter, Yosef also holds a victory against (21-4-2) Donnell Wiggens (KO2) and fought (17-1) Randy Griffin to a draw. “Yusef is one of the best young prospects in boxing,” Burchfield said. “His manager/trainer Percy Custas is one of the best around. It’s great to be working with Team Mack.”
