Risum Boxing: Semo Challenges Zamora April 17 In Italy

By Boxing Press February 3rd, 2009 All Press Releases

Risum Boxing today received the signed contract from promoter Mario Loreni which finalizes negotiations for a fight between former IBF Intercontinental champion Peter Semo, 19-3 (14), and reigning WBA Intercontinental champion Brunet Zamora, 16-0 (7), on April 17 in Udine, Italy.

Semo is managed by Eddie Bazira, represented by Risum Boxing on exclusive agent-basis and this will be the third fight in Italy for the Swedish-based Ugandan.

In November, 2007 he lost a twelve-round decision to then WBA Intercontinental holder Giorgio Marinelli, while he went back two months later to stop Fedele Bellusci in ten one-sided rounds to capture the IBF Intercontinental crown.

In May, 2008 Semo lost the IBF belt by close decision to Sergey Fedchenko in Ukraine, so he will be hungry to collect another strap to add to his vast collection which already includes, besides the IBF Intercontinental, the Ugandan national lightweight title, the UBO lightweight title as well as the UBO light welterweight title.

With more than two months to go before the bout against WBA # 12 Zamora, an Italian-based Cuban, Semo will have plenty of time to prepare, and he knows this is a fine opportunity to give his career a major boost.

While Zamora has home-advantage, Semo has youth and power on his side and it promises to be an excellent fight.

Semo may have a tune-up fight in February or early March, but ultimately his sight is firmly set on April 17 and Brunet Zamora Fernandez!
