Treiber’s first trip to England was on December 6 as super middleweight Carl Froch won the WBC title against Jean Pascal in an outstanding twelve round bout at the Trent FM Arena in Nottingham.
“It was a terrific experience for my first event with Hennessy Sports, the crowd was fantastic and they saw an outstanding battle,” said Treiber.
Treiber is now part of the ITV4 broadcast team for the highly rated monthly boxing series, “The Big Fight Live” airing in the UK, along with North America and Australia.
Said Mick Hennessy, CEO of Hennessy Sports, “We consider Thomas to be one of the best ring announcers in America and we are very pleased to have him as part of our team.”
"I am very excited about being part of the ITV broadcast team and it is an honor to travel once a month to England," said Treiber.
"Along with my multitude of announcing duties in the United States, I’m looking forward to a very busy 2009”
Most recently, Treiber handled the ring announcing duties this past Saturday, March 14, at the Aston Events Centre in Birmingham, England, for the British Commonwealth Middleweight title bout between Matthew Macklin and Wayne Elcock, won by third round technical knockout by Macklin.
He will return to England for a boxing card at the historic York Hall in London on April 11.
This coming Friday night, March 27, Treiber will ring annouce the inaugural Windy City Fight Night at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago and on April 24, Treiber will ring announce an ESPN2 Friday Night Fights broadcast from there, presented by Golden Boy Promotions and 8 Count Productions.
In the late 1990s, Treiber received his first break as the exclusive Ring Announcer for the now defunct America Presents which at the time was promoting monthly shows that aired nationally on Fox Sports Net.
