European Boxing News: Fragomeni, Wlodarczyk, Parisi, Jackiewicz, Bonsu, Asloum, Larsen, KesslerBy Boxing Press March 30th, 2009 All Press ReleasesBy Per Ake Persson WBC Cruiser Champ Giacobbe Fragomeni´s defence against Pole Krzysztof Wlodarczyk is off and has a new proposed date for May 15 or 16. Wlodarczyk´s promoter Bullit Knockout is trying to get the WBC to approve a fight for the interim title with Czech Rudolf Kraj as opponent for Wlodarczyk. At first, Fragomeni vs. Wlodarczyk had March 27 as a working date, but was then was moved to April. Former WBO Lightweight, Junior Welter Champ and Olympic Gold Medalist Giovanni Parisi was tragically killed in a car accident on March 25. Parisi, age 42, fought professionally from 1989 through 2006 with a 41-5-1 record. European Welter Champ Rafael Jackiewicz from Poland has Belgian Jackson Osei Bonsu as mandatory challenger but it´s a fight that is not very likely to happen. The champion is looking for a IBF eliminator, possibly against South Africa's Isaac Hlatswayo, while Jackson is looking for a possible opponent for the second of the two eliminators ordered by the WBC. Osei Bonsu first lost the European title to Jackiewicz in a big upset, then still got to fight in a WBC eliminator against Carlos Baldomir and won , but still has to win another eliminator to get to the mandatory challenger spot. WBA Light Fly Champ Brahim Asloum will return to action on April 27 in Cannet in a ten-round non-title fight. The opponent have yet to be announced. The fight will be televised on a PPV basis through brahimasloum.com Danish super middle Mads Larsen has told Sauerland Event that it´s a fight against compatriot and WBA Champ Mikkel Kessler that matters and nothing else.
