Pro Boxing Show This Saturday At Winchester Sportsplex In Virginia

By Boxing Press May 6th, 2009 All Press Releases

TKO Boxing Promotions and Reno based Let's Get In On Promotions join forces with Left Hook Llc to present “Triple Threat: Tomorrow's Champions II”, an outstanding evening of world class professional boxing this Saturday night, May 9 at the Sportsplex in Winchester, VA.

Said TKO President Chet Koerner, “Both Andrew Farmer and Bayan Jargal are outstanding local prospects with world championship potential and this gives the boxing fans in the Mid-Atlantic region an excellent opportunity to see them perform.”

Featured in the main event, Andrew Farmer, 11-1-0 (7), of nearby Fort Royal, is currently riding a seven bout winning streak and will battle Crossville, TN veteran Marty Robbins, 22-42-1 (15), in an eight round junior welterweight bout.

Said Scott Farmer of Left Hook, “Andrew has looked great his last few bouts. He’s been very patient, not rushing for the knockout. He’s prepared to win a decision as he did last time out against Cesar Vega or to knock someone out.

“Robbins is one of those old school veterans. He’s fought numerous contenders and world champions on the road and has given all of them tough fights, often going the distance. He’ll bring the fight right to Andrew and it’s a real test.”

The co-main event brings back to the area Arlington, VA native Bayan Jargal in a six round lightweight bout against Brian Carden of St. Joseph, MO.

Jargal, 11-0-1 (8), has thrilled crowds in Las Vegas, Southern California and York, PA with his crunching knockout power and fast hands. He is coming off a third round knockout of Reggie Nash on March 14 at the Sportsplex, which followed a first round KO of Walberto Gaxiola on January 23 in Las Vegas .

The 31 year old hard nosed, veteran Carden brings a record of 8-7-0 (7) into the battle with Jargal.

Said Terry Lane of Let's Get It On Promotions, “This is a great chance once again for the local fans to see Bayan fight. He’s going to fight all over the country this year and we’re looking for another TV fight this summer also.

Jargal is managed by J.D. Brown, who has managed former world champions William Joppy and DeMarcus Corley and also worked as an advisor for Sugar Ray Leonard.

Also featured in separate bouts will be lightweight Jaime Palma, 13-13-1 (3), and local heavyweight Scott Hossaflook.

Further details on this event and the undercard bout will be announced shortly.

The Sportsplex is located at 221 Commonwealth Court in Winchester, Virginia. Doors on the evening of the event will open at 6:30pm with the first bell at 7:30pm. Advance tickets starting at $40, can be purchased by calling 540-379-1532 or 540-868-2200.
