TKO Boxing: May 28 Houston Fight Card Heading Toward Sellout Status

By Boxing Press May 14th, 2009 All Press Releases

TKO Boxing Promotions inaugural show in Houston, Texas, "The Beatdown In H-Town" is proving a hot ticket as the May 28 card at the Arena Theatre is headed towards a sellout over two weeks from the event.

Said Chet Koerner, President of TKO Boxing Promotions “Although we live here, this is our first event in Houston and we’re thrilled with the response. Right now, we’re over halfway sold on the Arena Theatre show for May 28th.

“Houston’s always been a great fight town and this has been a terrific two weeks since the tickets went on sale. We haven’t even started on radio yet and our print advertising won’t kick in until this Monday.

But, as we’ve seen at our shows all over the country, if you bring a quality product and price tickets reasonably, you can do well anywhere. Our cheapest ticket is priced at $20 and there’s not a bad seat in the house at the Arena Theatre.”

Featured on the card is Houston native KJ Noons, world ranked featherweight Dat Nguyen and sensational super bantamweight prospect Rafael Valenzuela.

The undercard brings a fantastic lineup of local talent including Jose Gutierrez, Omar Henry and Gerardo Ibarra, along with newcomers Jonathan Gover from San Antonio and California native David Garcia.

Continued Koerner, “We’ve got hometown kids like KJ, Jose, Omar, and Gerardo along with world class fighters Dat Nguyen and Rafael Valenzuela. This is the first time KJ has boxed in his hometown and the response has been outstanding since we started putting the posters up.”

Advance tickets, starting at $20, are now on sale and can be ordered by calling 713-268-6224 or by visiting the Arena Theatre website at www..arenahouston.com

The Arena Theater is located at 7326 Southwest Freeway between Bellaire and Fondren. Doors open at 7pm, first bell at 8. remodeled website, www.tkoboxingpromotions.com
