Danish super middleweight Fawaz Nasir (13-3, 8 KOs) will face Latvian puncher Ruslans “Rugby” Pojonisevs (5-3-1, 4 KOs) on June 19 in Horsens, Denmark.
The fight will be promoted by Risum Boxing in cooperation with Brian Mathiasen Boxing, and is headlined by Kim Poulsen vs. Obote Ameme for the UBO Intercontinental lightweight title.
Pojonisevs is a European and two-time world kickboxing champion, and is coming off a first-round knockout victory in his latest conventional boxing bout. One of his thre e losses as a professional boxer was on an injury, and one was against Swedish amateur standout Cliff Souka, so the 26-year-old from Riga is not used to losing much.
“It is for sure a tough comeback-fight for Fawaz after almost a year on the sidelines rehabilitating from the shoulder-injury he suffered against Robert Stiglitz last year, but we want only competitive and entertaining fights on this show, and this one promises to be just that. I have seen Pojonisevs fight, and can almost guarantee that this fight will be really good”, says Henrik Risum.
