The waiting is almost over for John Murray and Scott Lawton ahead of their British Lightweight title showdown at the Robin Park Arena in Wigan on Saturday night, June 13.
The two men will weigh in on Friday ahead of their clash which has been billed by Hennessy Sports as “Rule Britannia” with British Champion Murray looking to defend his Lonsdale belt against English title holder Lawton.
The bout headlines Saturday’s event which is being screened live on ITV4 from 8pm. Murray and Lawton won’t be the only champions stepping on the scales on Friday though with Central Area Lightweight Champ Nadeem Siddique also weighing in alongside Southern Area Welterweight king Tom Glover.
The two will renew hostilities in a scheduled 10 round battle on Saturday with Glover looking for revenge following Siddique’s points win in their first encounter in 2007.
Saturday night’s undercard also features a host of exciting prospects including Canadian based puncher, Andrew Singh Kooner, rising featherweight star Steve “Super Bad” Barnes, welterweight Phill Fury and the pro debuts of Bobby “Boogaloo” Ward, the last Englishman to defeat Amir Khan and Sheffield heavyweight, Richard Towers.
