He clearly just wants to fight Joe before he retires and if he beats Hopkins convincingly Joe will have to fight him. Abra is a dangerous fight for him for less money than a Hopkins or Calzaghe fight. Doesnt mean hes ducking him, he just needs to go after Joe now because hes retiring. I'm sure he will fight Abra eventually regardless of the results against Hopkins and Calzaghe. He cant fight any of those other guys you mentioned because theyre 2 divs below him.

I agree, he is more illusive than cotto and is a lil more of a natural boxer (but he doesnt beat cotto). if he can do what he did against julio he can get a dec v marg, but i still have tony as the favorite in that fight. Too bad their 2nd fight did not play out, i would have like to c wat would happen

If it was as easy as 'wishing it were so' then yeah it probably happen.,unfortunately thats not the way boxing politics works. Arum won't let Marga in the ring with PDubb,,because of risk, too soon. He wants to milk as much as he can from Marga before he puts him in the ring with Pdubb. Its going to happen next year. But you will probably see a rematch with Cotto before you see Marga vs PDub 2. No welter wants a part of Pdub.

Margatito is ducking williams cuz he wants to keep his belt. The Williams camp put up 4 million for the fight but Rito's camp turned it down. Paul tried to fight Pavlik, De lahoya, Mosely, Margarito. All of them turned offers down. Andy kolle at 160 just got knocked out in the first round. Who's next? the challenge he made to fight every one from 147 to 168 is out there. Now what? All the people you say he will lose to is scared to fight him.

Some of you guys comments are kind of... if Paul Williams weighs in at 147 for like 31 of his fights, he's tall. jermain taylor weighs 160 in like 20 something fights. Point is that boxing goes by how much you weigh not how tall you are... come on now

why should margarito accept the fight when he asked for an immediate rematch and williams brushed him off like he was nothing.. the decision was close and it was good enough fight to make an immediate rematch but both williams camp and the WBO rejected it.. and now that margarito is the hottest ticket, they're demanding a rematch? ha ha.. also you dont loose to quintana and expect to be considered top notch.. that dude sucks!! now its williams turn to wait!

Good point. Margarito is at the top of the mountain, if Williams wants to fight him he has to wait in line behind Cotto, Mosley, Clottey. Margarito has earned the right to pick and choose his opponents. Williams beat no one to deserve a rematch. Margarito on the other hand took out the welterweight king.

williams in my opinion is the best in this weight class, quintana is a respectable fighter he gave julio his only loss and williams, but williams is clearly a better fighter
