i boxed as well,got my golden gloves...and from a "boxer's" perpective,Bhop cant Beat joe in any way, shape or form.If he couldnt deal with Jermaine Taylor,twice,how can he deal with wat joe will put on him!!Joe has been eyeing Bhop for years now,still undefeated...2 much speed,he throws in combination,gets in and out whenever he wants,and he's well conditionned...while Bhop,is 42 years old.i love bernard,incredible "middleweight",but his 42 year old body wont be able to deal with Joes attaks

Very well put. I'm a Hopkins fan, but Joe is gonna be too fast for Hopkins to counter. Calzaghe doesn't need to outbox Hopkins, he just needs to outwork him like Jermain Taylor did.

Exactly ,and dats exactly wat will happen,he will get outwork,no doubt...It will almost look like a mismatch cause Bhop wont be able to slow da Brit Down. Bernard has these subtle techniques in the ring, but Joe is to savvy to get caught in any of them.bhop will have to do alot of "tying up" and bull rush Joe like crazy.But Joe is to agile on his feet,he can get out from any clinch,and besides...He wants it much more Than bernard.Again,easy win for Joe...after da fight,come and read this again.

roney you made an accurate point. father time catches us all, and whilst hopkins was/is a great fighter. i cant see how he can keep up with joes pace. he is relentless. you cant counter joes combinations they are too much. the way to beat joe is to out slug him in the trenches. thats a tough deal, and bernard cant do that at 42/43.

No doubt jpl2803...Bhop use to be this master tactician in the ring,he would analyze u in the ring and break you down with all types of different manouevers.He,s not a puncher but a great thinker, he understand the "science" of da sport.Its normal for him to throw an overhand right,when his opponent throws weak jabs!But he's old now,the brain still works the same or even better but the armor wont stand da rain!Bernard has a low punch output, decreasing every fight...and joes a punching machine

wat the world is asking of Bernard is sumthin they should have asked him way long ago, when he was at his physical prime at his peak, cause asking him to beat the best Super middleweight in the past decade will be too much to compete with.The "Young Tiger" Kessler looked spent against Older Joe who he "blazed" with numerous unpredictable combos,he kept him guessing all night.Pure skillz.Joes merits more respect than to be considered to fall to da handz of 42 year old bhop.hes better than dat!

good point. i think joes easy to underestimate. ive watched him sometimes, and have struggled to see whats so good about him, but he clearly is very difficult to handle. you only need to look at his record, and past opponents to know that. i also suspect the hopkins fight will be more one-sided than people assume, but i stand to be corrected

dont be, i strongly believe this could be a mismatch...Cause if bernard, with all his tacticts, is not able to slow down da Brit,he is done...Joe slips out from any clinch,remember he's been in dagame since eubank and Nigel benn dayz,this dude "knows" wat to do in there,...Hes too determine to lose,2 scientific to fall to dirty tactics,and has the style to break down any fighter.Young cats like Kessler,manfredo jr and Lacy learnt the hard way.

a couple of good points made here overall. bhop has enuf left in the tank for this fight. he's kept himself in great shape. he looked better than ever when he moved up to light-heavy to fight taver and he beat him well but i've never rated taver! i'm a huge calzaghe fan. i watched him beat wilson in 95 4 british sm title. he gets critisized for throwing slap like combos, but ask lacy r kessler how they felt after there fights with joe! i feel joe can adapt to any figher he meets. joe by ud
