    It totally depends, boxers like Tyson, Liston, Frazier and Foreman would do incredibly well in a streetfight.

    MMA and boxing is totally different. If an MMA guy fight a boxer, we all know the boxer will loose due to it's limitation. In fact a boxer may not even do to well when it comes to a real fight becuase there is no referee to pull them apart in a clinch. The boxer is only effective when they are on their feet.

    I like MMA but I will always like boxing more. Boxing is far from dead. UFC 105 was free because there was no way more people were gonna buy that the same night as Pacquiao vs. Cotto. UFC tried to compete vs. Mayweather vs. Marquez (both were PPV) but Mayweather vs. Marquez prevailed. If boxing was on as much as MMA... MMA wouldn't stand a chance but boxing isn't promoted as well as it used to be.

    fsfreestyle=no logic.

    would you agree if an mma fighter and boxer trains 6 months to learn as much about the other sport that a boxer would be more successful in the ufc, wec, pride etc than an mma fighter would be in a boxing match? its proven that stand up fighters are successful in the mma there's not that much stuff a boxer needs to learn to be good in mma. but an mma fighter and not learn to take 3 times more punches he takes on an mma match.

    MMA hands down OoÓ!!!! boxing requires lots of skill but a real MMA fighter knows about it, i practive JKD myself and i've been trough a lot boxing , MMA too, they train lots of disciplines while boxers simply stay training box, so when a kick comes they just dont even know what to do , on the other hand MMA really knows what to do when the punch comes, i dont even know why is there even such a discussion , when both sides know MMA ftw :D

    the problem with mma is that any guy with no skill whatsoever can be lucky. But in boxing, their is no luck with those thick 14 ounce gloves.

    agreed. what an idiot.. some people are just stupid.. hes probably not flexible enough to kick above the waist and therefore has a grudge against it.

    i kinda agree with you even though im on the mma side. its easier to create holes and strike using kicks. but when all you have is fists and big ass gloves you need a lot of technique. i still think MMA overall requires more skill.

    Wow, you're funny! How is learning how to punch AND kick LESS skills than just punching??? It is more than one skill, right? let me see, punching is ONE skill, and kicking is TWO skills! Hey look! I can count! now you need to learn to count as well. Maybe this will be easier for you... fsfreestyle = cant count worth a shit.

    kick boxing = just kick and just hit (no skills) Boxing = only hit ( more skills )

    MMA is a more realistic view of fighting. But I was raised on Boxing and I like the fact that there are rules that you have to abide by which makes it more challenging. In boxing you can only use your fists. That says alot about the level of skill needed. MMA is great though. Unfortunately boxing is and always be corrupt, which tarnishes the beauty of the competition. Peace!

    Of course the boxer isn't going to do well against MMMs. Even the average wrestler can take down the average boxer...IF the wrestler gets a hold of him.

    The fact is an MMA fighter would destroy a boxer. If u need scientific proof look it up and you will find out that MMA fighters can punch stronger than a boxer, kick stronger than a muay thai fighter, etc.

    he can't take a kick to the leg either, lol. wait a minute... he can't kick at all, all he can do is punch... wow he should have won, right gerry? lol... this is noting i haven't seen in all the semi-pro mma events i've been to, not a suprise that the boxer goes out in the first. "oh my god, you mean there's more to fighting than just punching??!!" LOL

    that boxer couldn't punch his way out a wet paper bag
