He's like an office bully. But nice video anyway.
euuh yeah? "That's good for the economy but bad for people who don't like conflict. teakwondo is alright, but it could try to incorporate more blocks, that's the main weakness of it." Thought that was a bit more obvious??
You commenting on me?
Well of course, if you compare traditional taekwondo, to the competition type that is mainly the, one hit kill as fast as you can. Then yes, tae would look like a very messy and ineffective way of fighting. GO do traditional tae, you will find the same basis of defensive and offensive blocking, than in most asian type martial arts.
I great example of unleashing your full potential is Bruce Lee. He made his own martial art by applying what he's learned and used the concept of MMA. It's nice that you incorporate a lot of things into your training but a lot of people say they've done this. and since you used kung fu incorrectly I must conclude that it's probable that you are lying about your studio doing everything past Hapkido. BTW everyone knows a move from judo and muay thai, nothing special there.
And I gotta say. I hate people who question other beliefs because it's a sign that deep down they are insecure with whatever they themselves believe in. I practice MMA, not UFC or UCF or Tapout or whatever else commercial fighting system you may think. I practice Mixing martial art to get the best combos possible. This is the only way a person can achieve their true potential. I'll tell you what martial arts I have done later.
The belt system makes people compete for power. That's good for the economy but bad for people who don't like conflict. teakwondo is alright, but it could try to incorporate more blocks, that's the main weakness of it. I gotta say you sound kinda stupid by saying that your studio has kung fu, cause kung fu isn't specifically martial art it's a philosophy of attainment. It's more accurate to say Wushu.
Martial arts is not just a fighting system, it is a spiritual practice, and the belt system is a part of that. what kind of martial arts do you do? my studio is mainly a taekwondo/hapkido mix, but it incorporates judo, jiu-jitsu, muay thai, and some kung fu.
I asked a sincere question to all Hapkido fighters. Don't take it as an insult, but maybe I should insult it since it uses a belt system. Don't be mad though, I insult all martial arts that can't beat me. I've fought several Hapkido martial artists and not one of them has been able to beat me. One was close, but didn't pull through. I use the South pa fighting stance most of the time, but really in a street fight there is no stance.
I don't know which McDojo you and blueprophet9 went to, but in my Hapkido studio, a "fighting stance" or "guard stance" is right foot back a bit more than shoulder width and both hands up at the chin level to protect the face. if either of you have seen a fight or been in a fight, you would know that this is an effective stance that is used by MMA fighters, boxers, street fighters, etc.
Really? A martial art is based on another martial art? That can't be possible.(faking being shocked) All martial arts are based from another martial art. The chain never ends, and no one knows the beginning. So of course BJJ is based off another martial art, but so is Judo, karate, tiger style and every martial art that's ever existed. Except for the first martial art that no one knows because its been twisted around so much.
That's always the excuse whenever BJJ kicks ass. "He wasn't fighting a good practitioner." or something like that. And BJJ is meant for one on one fights. I'm not saying you should practice standing fighting but you should practice ground fighting as well. For all situations. You should really type in 'BJJ vs' on the Youtube search and you'll find it wins 99.99% of the time. I've only seen one fight in which it doesn't win. And do show me these vids where BJJ loses I'd like to check them out.
BJJ is just a play on Kosen Judo. Umm, the fight usually stays vertical and videos you watched are not good practitioners. Especially the Gracie fight...hell, he wasn't even hapkido. Yes, actually I see dudes trying to pull that sport shit in parking lots only to have the other cat cracking the shit out of him...no padding. BJJ guys hate straight kicks and good boxing. That's why the Gracies are continually getting their asses handed to them. BJJ is for the ring or cage.
Its better to stand and be a striker, but the fight will almost always go to the ground if the fighters are really going at it. And have you even seen the fights between BJJ and Hapkido; the Hapkido guy loses. Horribly. 3 times in a row. Hapkido guy tries to go for the groin, but he gets choked out to fast. Sure 'you' got your ass handed to you, but have you seen BJJ guys getting their ass handed to them. And what brought up Judo?
If it's one on one...bjj guy is getting his eyes poked out, kick to the nuts and stomped on his head. Yes, hapkido can work. I got my ass handed to me last month from a hapkido guy...in his garage. Since you want to pull it into MMA...all current champs are strikers...when they learn basics of Kosen Judo...they handle Gracies(losing all time now).
Okay Mr.Muay Thai. I agree that Muay thai kicks ass, but it's really hard on your body. And Submissions are the best way to end a fight if it's one on one. Otherwise it's best to just boot them all in the face. Knees and elbows are fairly short ranged but have great power and stability. Stop trying to derail this comment section. Back to hapkido. Tried it against an opponent that fights back and it doesn't work. The only thing that would work is getting tons of punching and kicking experience.
Voluntary/involuntary decision to be in the guard or mount. Get it? People like you just want to put in that muay thai and submissions are the only real way to learn. Muay thai has basics for fighting. Hapkido does the same thing if you incorporate knees. Submissions in a street fight??? You never been in a good rumble, no? But yeah, fuck those mothers' against violent video games.
In a street fight there is no "GUARD" stance. You can't say "wait stop, let me get into my fighting stance." You just show up out of no where saying random things. Stop trying to derail this comment section. It won't work. But it is fun to do it to really stupid stuff like Mother against violent video games.
Stop crying, fag. You stay away from fights in the street...might start crying after you're in 'GUARD' and getting boot tips to the face.
You're a dick for insulting someone over and internet forum. Back on the topic of hapkido. Has anyone ever successfully used hapkido to defend themselves against an attacker? or attackers?
YOU'RE A CLOWN, GUY.
Who me?
yes
You're a clown, guy.
I've never seen a karate style that is as mobile as any Chinese martial art. Got vids to prove this claim? Wing Tsun incorporates many things from mantis, tiger, crane, etc. The combination makes a very deadly combo. So actually I'm pretty sure that wing Tsun came later in the Chinese martial arts evolution chain. It was made by a woman who fought for her freedom.
