Escandon vs Nyambayar Full Fight: May 26, 2018 - PBC on FS1

Oscar Escandon faced undefeated Olympian Tugstsogt Nyambayar in a 10-round featherweight bout on Saturday, May 26, 2018 on PBC on FS1.

Oscar Escandon looked to bounce back in his first fight since his loss by TKO at the hands of WBC champ Gary Russell last year. "King Tut" Nyambayar wanted to display his Olympian pedigree and move his way up the ladder in the division. Although the fight was scheduled for 10 rounds, but all it took was 3 before a fighter was victorious.

Immediately into RD1 Nyambayar showed he was the faster and more precise fighter. Nyambayar was finding success until late in RD1 Escandon landed a small flurry of punches that sent Nyambayar back causing a knockdown. Although Nymabayar felt he slipped, he used that knockdown as motivation to attack in the next two rounds.

King Tug showed that he was the more active fighter and was eager to put his leather on Escandon. He put together combinations at will. His 7in. height advantage came in to play as well, making it difficult for Escandon to land clean punches. At the :45 mark Nyambayar scored his first knockdown by 3 punch combination, followed by another knockdown 20 seconds later.

Escandon made it through RD2 but as soon as RD3 started Nyambayar made it clear that he wanted to end this fight early. Just 30 seconds into the round Nyambayar dropped Escandon for the third time by a booming right hand. Escandon got up, only to be dropped 2 more times in the next 40 seconds before the ref stopped the fight.

Nyambayar improved his record to 9-0 and looks forward to his next opponent into the featherweight division.
