I like Calzaghes career. But the guy is right, he didnt fight many good ones, cause the americans wont arrange fights with euro boxers cause they arent profitable, so the oppotunitys never came aplenty. Sad cause he truely was great. But look at Alis fightlist. He only ever lost 5 matches and only 1 on knockout in 1980, after a 2yr break from boxing! During the real career he had 3 losses, all on points and he beat all 3 again later, 2 in the match right after the loss. Joe in 71 exception

Yeah Joe was undefeted you can't argue anything with that! No i'm not Welsh I'm English but he's still undefeted nuff said!

Apart from Kessler they were all over the hill! You can't compare Ali to Calzaghe, are you welsh? Your argument would not last 2 seconds in a conversation of boxing history and prestige.

  4. Nov 22, 2009 at 07:57 AM by sw1000xg

Still undefeted one of the best all time nuff said! And you talk about who he faught Hopkins, Eubanks Kessler, anyone who would fight (they all ran) better than a paid to take a dive Sonny Liston Ali fight...

  5. Nov 22, 2009 at 07:37 AM by hitmancoolio

What great fighters did he beat in their prime? Absolutely none. To be one of the greatest fighters in history you have to beat the best. The best example is Muhammad Ali, he fought all of the greats in his era. Joe Calzaghe, what a joke.

  6. Nov 22, 2009 at 07:34 AM by sw1000xg

    Undefeted Nuff said!

  7. Nov 22, 2009 at 07:26 AM by hitmancoolio

You think Joe Calazaghe is one of the best fighters ever? Wow. "Nuff said!"

  8. Nov 22, 2009 at 07:25 AM by hitmancoolio

One of the luckiest shots in the history of boxing.

All Tyson did was swing for the fences against talentless glass jaws until he landed one of those lucky missiles, and sent their head spinning. He was entertaining, but he's not even top 5 greatest. I'm not denying he had one of the biggest cannons in boxing history, and loads of potential, but he was undisciplined, and ducked on good fighters for ages. Then when Holyfield was rocking his socks, he bit the guy's FUCKING EAR off. How do you make excuses for a chump like that?

    tyson is the best ever

I can't agree with your list, you can't leave out Joe Lewis and Sugar Ray Robinson who to me was probably in the top 5 best of all tilme and then you definetly need to namet the 4 horsemen (Leonard-Hagler-Hearns and Duran).

His last fight was against almost 40 year old Archie Moore who knocked down Rocky in the 2nd round & after defeating Moore rather than show his greatness he retired. Tell me another great champion that retired at 32 or when he had some adversity. Marciano only had 49 fights Ezzard Charles when the two fought had 94 fights under his belt, Moore had 176 fights when the two meet. Back in those days guys fought once per month sometimes. Rocky's record was secured by him fighting very infrequently.

You are 100% correct on the rocky issue. He didn't fight guys that could present a problem for him to lose a fight. In other words he ducked good fighters, and a lot of them happened to be black. He fought Ezzard Charles in 1954 & was given a decision that many thought he lost the scorecards were 8-5, 9-5 & 8-6. Many said he lost that fight, he then had a rematch & KO'd Charles the fight you talked about.

  23. Nov 17, 2009 at 05:40 PM by 1878EFC2008

James Buster Douglas, Evander Holyfield, Lennox Lewis, Danny Williams and Kevin McBride

  24. Nov 17, 2009 at 05:25 PM by LBFAM131CREW

stop. who matched his power speed and evasiveness?

  25. Nov 17, 2009 at 04:23 PM by 1878EFC2008

Tyson isn't even the top 100 boxers of all time. Not even in the top 20 heavyweights of all time. Most overrated boxer of all time.
