basically "they" made a rep beating lots of people who knew jack shit about newaza. once they faced people who knew newaza .... the shine came off. funny that. jujutsu comes from japan. been studying since 96 and still looking for the "b" in bjj. Sakuraba is brilliant.

because rickson won't fight him. many MANY people have challenged rickson (including fedor), he refuses to fight anyone anymore. he has retired. the only ones that fight sakuraba are rickson's younger brothers. they have all lost. excpet for the last time in which royce used steroids to win. even royce's brothers admit royce's use of steroids. rickson always picked his fights when he was performing in MMA. he has lots of other wins outside of MMA, not 400, but he still only has 11 MMA fights.

You're going to find similar moves in all grappling styles (from San Shou takedowns to Sambo leglocks to BJJ to Catch, etc.)... cross-armlock, figure-4, omoplata, twister, reinforcement, juji gatame... doesn't matter.. they all have counterparts somewhere in the world... as long as we have two arms, two legs, and one neck, there's only so much you can do to the body that's unique.

to be honest with u, royce using steriods really had nothing to do with it..he won by decision which to me means not a fucking thing.. sak didnt take care of his body.. he is a heavy drinker and smoker so his body could not do what he want to to cause he didnt take care of it...sak bear himself..

true. steroids really didn't have anything to do with it. if you watch all of saks older fight against gracie, he wins after like 30 minutes of fighting. sak is a very slow ground fighter. due to the K1 rules, he was forced to hurry, saks best position is on bottom, which means gracie was on top. you get points for the top. plus gracie was a much more aggressive, thus he got even more points. sakuraba lost because he used a bad strategy. as well as all the reasons you said.

Except on their first fight Sak was on top the whole fight.
He has also has never being a guard fighter , he always worked from the top,against Renzo, Newton,Royce, Royler so yoau are wrong. When ha was on the bottom always got owned (Arona, Silva)

i agree for the most part but he just physically wasnt prepared for this fight.. when your body is beat up from all the yrs of abuse, shit, theres nothing u can do.. but it shows u how really good the man is that even at his weakest point gracie COULD NOT tap him out, submit him or anything but go by decisions..in my opinion points is sooo bullshit unless is so obvious that one man is clearly winning..pound for pound hell always be one of the top fighters that has stepped into the ring..PERIOD..

pretty cool move. kinda funny at 0:15 where he puts his hand down to posture up and doesn't even hold his wrist when he reaches out for it. i still will practice this one though x]
