Mora is going to ... ( 6 months ago by UnoZocalo)
Mora is going to get Ko'ed. The only guy who has beaten him(Forrest) was someone(Mayorga) who imposed his will with sheer brute force. You will never use the words "brute force" with Mora
Nice show. I think ... ( 6 months ago by tehmode)
Nice show. I think Klitschko is just petrified of being knocked out. Whether it is Stewart's donig or not, Wlad has been knocked down 11 times in his career and is now well aware of his weaknesses. Not even Lennox was as cautious as Wlad was against Sultan.
Joe Greene won in ... ( 6 months ago by WOODDDDDDDYACOMEBACK)
Joe Greene won in the 10th even though Mora did his best to make the ref & his corner to stop the fight on numerous rounds. I've seen fights stopped for lesser cuts than Duddy's.
To be fair to ... ( 6 months ago by gprice3)
To be fair to Stewart he was emploring Taylor to start fighting more, before the Pavlik fights, I think it was aginst Spinks. If a fighter isn't willing to go to war a trainer can't really do much to make him.
In this case Manny ... ( 6 months ago by shupe1907)
In this case Manny was telling him to KO him with that right..but it wasnt happening..we are all so use to seing Wlad Ko everyone..that one decision sorts puts a dim light on things. Im sure hell Ko the next one. Also Sultans style was such that he is a very tough guy to knock out. But forma fasn point he did look be be there for him should he have been more agressive.
Also...WBA is prob hardest title to unify as it is hands down the most corrupt sanctioning body in the business
I think with ... ( 6 months ago by dutchboy00)
I think with Stewart it is a case by case basis. I thought he did a good job with Lewis and Wladdy keeps winning easily even if the fights are terrible for the fans. JT was definitely more harm than good. He didn't progress under manny but actually regressed. If Vitali comes back under manny and is boring then we have problems. He was always bigger, tougher, has a better chin, and more exciting than his brother.
emaunel steward ... ( 6 months ago by jellywellyboy)
emaunel steward helps some guys and hurts others, so much depends on the fighters ability, style, willingness to learn, and ability to listen, look at cintron he looks like a completely different fighter, taylor looks worse then he did before becuase he's not the kind of guy that can listen, he uses his natural ability to win, he doesn't use his jab as he should and just relies on nartual ability, cintron's style also plays into it, i wrote this before cintron, hearns, klitchkoo, lewis, all of
them were ... ( 6 months ago by jellywellyboy)
them were conventional tall lengthy right handed bazuka fighters, they were all taylor made for steward who just had to teach them to use their length, jab and right hand, the one thing they all had in common were bad chins, but when they learned they become great fighters, but jermain taylor already beat hopkins though it was close, i thaught when steward came in it was a bad idea, and throw out klitchko becuase ibragimov was fighting to survive, give manny credit u cannevertellwhatcanhappen
Yeah I agree. ... ( 6 months ago by esb818)
Yeah I agree. Lennox was very cautious too, but he eventually turned on the heat in almost every fight. Wlad has an awesome jab, he was snapping Sultan's head back every time he threw it. I do agree that unless someone forces Wlad to brawl and throw the right hand, he probably won't do it. Thats why I'd like to see Wlad fight Sam Peter again, who will likely pressure him.
I think Steward's ... ( 6 months ago by logindoss)
I think Steward's safety first approach is right for Wlad- since Wlad tends to unfurl under fire. What I didn't like about this fight was how I noticed his caution more than his skill. But I'd rather see Wlad in a boring win than see him take chances and get KOed.
forest ko no ? ... ( 6 months ago by dieallday)
forest ko no ? about it caz he is a seasoned vet who wants a payday he is bot gonna fuck around and he is going to get to mora
I think Manny ... ( 6 months ago by TermiteAssassin1)
I think Manny Steward can help a fighter if he can work with them for more than 3 fights a year. If he's only getting 2 fights a year he can't help a fighter. Freddie Roach and Mayweather Sr. are guys who can help a top fighter already deep into his career. I think Steward has made Klitchko a better fighter overall but no more exciting. Klitchko may be the second coming of Larry Holmes or Lennox Lewis.
Wlad will beat ... ( 6 months ago by danlfc1983)
Wlad will beat Peter again easier this time around. When Wald beat him the first time he was coming off a loss and his confidence was low. In a rematch with Peter his confidence will be higher and with his safety first style he outboxes him easier IMO.
you've probably ... ( 6 months ago by HitmanConan)
you've probably heard this by now, but im hearing that John Duddy is out because of those cuts. HE gets cut a lot. Also, the guy that Gamboa beat had a real good record and he also beat eric aiken, who had a belt. As far as Steward goes-Klitschko is 8-0, with 5 KO's. i think that is simply Klitschko is just personally to cautious. and also I think since Ibraimov was a Russian, Klitschko had more respect for him. If Ibragimov was an american, it would have been over in five rounds
if that is the best ... ( 6 months ago by theRebels3)
if that is the best heavyweight boxing can muster i don't think it's any wonder some people are shifting their focus to mma. klitschko was far too cautious against an opponnent he was physichaly and technically superior to and his lack of killer instinct was so frustrating i wanted to jump in the ring and slap him myself. the heavyweight division badly needs someone with excitement and a volume of punches greater than the 70 a fight klitschko manages if it is to survive the challenge of mma.
as for duddy, well ... ( 6 months ago by theRebels3)
as for duddy, well he's so far from world class it's embaressing. he has no defense to speak of and his walk forward style was almost suicidal in it's naivity against a distincly average opponnent.he has no lateral movement at all and very basic boxing skills which make me wonder just how he's got the coverage he has. like you say islander, if he steps in to the ring with pavlik i would fear for his life.

What a pity it isn't Wladimir who has the chronic injury problems.
Rebels3 its all ... ( 6 months ago by storkjmc)
Rebels3 its all about promotion, marketing, and ticket sales in regards to Duddy. He's somewhat exciting b/c of his style but like you said its not against world class opposition.

I think Steward ... ( 6 months ago by wrappedhands)
I think Steward hasn't been good for Klitschko. He shows less two handed skills now and less agression. He's using that scared Lennox Lewis style of hiding behind a jab. On the other hand, he does show more ring intelligence.
Array ( 5 months ago by romanoaf)
great vids,
im a big klitschko fan, but i liked his style alot more when he was a killing machine, before the first brewster fight.
i still like watching him fight, but its more because i cant be bored watching my favorite fighter.
one more thing, i dont know why the hbo commentators were bashing vitali so much on saturday, he had an exciting style and was a money maker for them. he would mess sam peter up
