I always thought this fight was fixed! You can clearly see marvin holding back at times. Marvin truely would of distroyed Leonard if it wasn't fixed!!

  2. Nov 22, 2009 at 06:17 PM by Piglatinsuperstar

he would if he waited 5 years after turning down the fight numerous times. As so eloquently stated by commentator Tim Ryan during rd 6: "Sugar Ray said hagler had lost a lot of speed and was counting on the slowness of Hagler"

  3. Nov 22, 2009 at 05:05 PM by DutchSouthpaw

Would a pussy dare to step in the ring with Marvin Hagler?

  4. Nov 22, 2009 at 12:58 PM by 66Fightfan

I couldnt score this fight. The judges gave leonard the first four rounds but their was no big punches landed and the punches that leaonard did land had nothing behind them so there was barely any offense and he danced around the ring sp much i cant even call this a fight. Leonard stole the title from hagler and wouldnt give him a rematch. Hagler only fought the toughest fighters and could give him credit for fighting a speed fighter when he got old.

  5. Nov 22, 2009 at 03:33 AM by Lacqueras

"start fighting like a man you little bitch! and I sayd NO" you call this a hero? I call this a pussy

  6. Nov 22, 2009 at 03:10 AM by tks94

    Both of them are legends

  7. Nov 21, 2009 at 07:24 PM by Jecipe

Well then I wish I suck, and win a world title over a great champion when I'm 17 years old. Yeah, triple world champions "suck." Guys who make it on the top five pound-for-pound list "suck." This guy's fucking at least 45 years old talking like that. Your ancestors would be ashamed to know their seed is being such a retarded prick.

  8. Nov 21, 2009 at 07:10 PM by Piglatinsuperstar

Benitez? Boy, get it thru your thick skull: he sucks! Throw out the relic known as hagler and fight someone on the way up, instead of feasting on someone ready for pasture what's wrong? Afraid of some healthy competition? he'd rather fight the sick and the old any day and rest on his puny laurels

  9. Nov 21, 2009 at 07:03 PM by Jecipe

I'm not and neither is anyone else except you. You do nothing but rail on SRL for his competition of all things. Roy can't carry Leonard's jockstrap in that department. And I don't remember Ray being roadkill on the canvas ever. Or fighting bum after bum. Some of Roy's challengers make Don LaLonde look like Muhammad Ali. You probably have Mustafa Hamsho rated ahead of SRL so what's the point.

  10. Nov 21, 2009 at 06:56 PM by Piglatinsuperstar

you can't compare Roy with leonard. leonard refused to defend his titles. Roy don't becuz he was extra gr8 and got nothing to fear. beat Hopkins weight drained w a broken had. and Toney was no contest you musta forgot

  11. Nov 21, 2009 at 06:56 PM by Jecipe

A guy who got beat by Steve Little when still young ain't beating no SRL. You seem to have a overly flattering view of Michael Nunn and that little two-year run he had. He ain't no fuckin Carlos Monzon, so get the fuck outta here with that tired Michael Nunn shit. Guys who beat Duran, Benitez, Hagler and Hearns don't have to validate it with Michael Fucking Nunn. Go tell the Steelers they have to beat Boise State before they get credit for the Super Bowl while you're at it.

  12. Nov 21, 2009 at 06:48 PM by Piglatinsuperstar

what do you mean finally? Leonard had been ducking those types to begin with remember? He blamed it on his eye but we know beter. He ducked hagler, Nunn, and even ducked Hearns in a rematch, refusing by saying "I'll give Tommy a rematch when he admits he couldnt continue" Ray picked a fight with Terry, not the other way around figuring he was easy, and thanks to that error in matchmaking, he was exposed and there aint no hiding it!

  13. Nov 21, 2009 at 06:46 PM by Jecipe

I should start going on Roy Jones clips and saying how his whole career was exposed by Tarver. Funny thing is I'd have a way stronger case than Pig has. He fought a green BHOP, a weight-drained Toney, then a bunch of telephone book filler for 10 years. When he ran into someone who wasn't intimidated and could punch, he was put to fucking sleep. Do you see how much of an asshole I'd be if I went around saying that? Would you say that's biased? What's different about what you're doing

  14. Nov 21, 2009 at 06:41 PM by Jecipe

I guess him coming out of the toughest welterweight era means nothing. You characterize his career by saying (lalonde, howard+relics) Yeah, that's not a biased summary of the man's achievements. He fought and beat guys with way deeper resumes and skills than Norris. Then he got old and lost. Happens to them all, will continue to. That's why we don't walk around like an asshole and claim Tarver and Johnson had better careers than Roy Jones. But then you probably do.

  15. Nov 21, 2009 at 06:36 PM by Piglatinsuperstar

why should I involve myself with useless hypotheticals when the battle has already been won and I have all the facts, and results on my side? Speed & movement were the key to beating him. Norris proved that. The fact that leonard went unbeaten for so long (11 years) is a testimony to his careful management (lalonde, Howard, + relics) 0 defenses. Had Norris gotten hold of him instead of Howard, or Kalule, we'd be looking at a different story obviously

  16. Nov 21, 2009 at 06:28 PM by Jecipe

It seems like a case to me of an older fighter finally hitting the wall against a young, fresh athletic talent like Norris. It's old hat in boxing, completely and utterly TYPICAL. You know that. I know you do, yet you choose to almost con yourself into thinking it takes on 100 times the importance of when the same thing happens to all your heroes. What makes that so much more monumental when it happens to every fighter eventually?

  17. Nov 21, 2009 at 06:21 PM by Piglatinsuperstar

yes it does becuz it falls into place perfectly: Leonard's ducking better faster fighters, Hagler for 5 yrs, ducking Nunn in favor of lalonde, Howard, and Duran. Now look at him when he go up against TN. See? he fall apart like a cheap deck of cards, loses his taste for battle. He is gr8 when opponent is w/o speed and cant hit hard (kalule) but the moment he has to fight someone who can hit hard and who is fast, he loses composure. Speed, movement, smart boxing, -all the key to beating him

  18. Nov 21, 2009 at 06:20 PM by Jecipe

Notice how all of Piglatinsuperstar's responses never address the previous posts. He thinks he can win debates by ignoring his opponent's questions. Me: If Norris is better than Ray, how did he lose 9 times before he was 31? Piglatinsuperstar: Don't forget when Tim Ryan said Ray told him Marvin was slowing down. WTF? Closing your eyes and flailing away with little girl hits is not how you win fights.

  19. Nov 21, 2009 at 06:13 PM by Jecipe

In your effort to see through the bullshit with SRL, you created an even bigger shithouse of misinformation and selective reasoning. You really have lost all your credibility. A lot of fighters higher than #12 lost to a lot worse fighters than Terry Norris and historians have given them a pass. Take all your ridiculous standards and evenly apply them to other fighters. Everyone's really tired of your blatantly homo-erotic fixation on SRL. Have some pride for Christ's sake.

  20. Nov 21, 2009 at 05:56 PM by Piglatinsuperstar

no, it just exposed ray's weakness in coping with a fast mover w excellent speed. that's justifies why Ray was heavily favored & still lost. No losses in 11 years, 5 titles and only Terry Norris could pull it off. It was the speed. Speed kills just give him a little bit of movement and he's lost. that was his problem in the 1st hearns fight (Dundee yells "you're blowing it"). It didnt surface again until the Norris fight. Also, Leonard didnt have the chin to absorb Norris' best shots.

  21. Nov 21, 2009 at 11:55 AM by Jecipe

Watch how unevenly Piglatinsuperstar applies his own standards. How Ray losing at 34 is unforgivable, but Terry Norris with double digit losses at 31-no problem. It's like a snake oil salesman forced to answer some legit questions and points when he's used to addressing a group of idiots. Now you watch him squirm like the little worm he is.

  22. Nov 21, 2009 at 11:24 AM by Jecipe

It doesn't work when you do it to SRL either.

  23. Nov 21, 2009 at 11:02 AM by 420League

3:01 omg , thats just amazing!

  24. Nov 21, 2009 at 08:57 AM by sje1964

Do you rate Kieth Mullings above Norris bearing in mind Norris was LM Champ, had a long winning streak, Mullings was a 10-1 underdog. If you do you must hold Mullings in high regard as you stated in a previous post you rate Norris above Hagler, Duran, SRL & Hearns.

  25. Nov 21, 2009 at 07:50 AM by Piglatinsuperstar

No. You TRYING to do the same thing as me but it won't work. You cannot copy the genuine article any more than SRL could copy the original Sugar Ray or Ali. You trying just out of frustration but it doesnt work unless you have a basis for doing it. Like I said, I can't legitimize him as a fighter becuz of his later career moves; a fake retirement, a ploy to get him into the slower paced remedial boxing program. Then the unveiling once he came out from behind it (v. Norris)
