Final comments:
1) Mugabi turned in quite a good challenge. He had some power, but had no lateral dimension to his game -- nada. This gradually caught up w/him.
2) Hagler had tremendous endurance, as he showed numerous times (including here).
3) Poorly officiated bout by Mills Lane. |

| Thanks for the post, this fight, in my opinion, ranks up there with castillo corrales as one of the best fights ever. look at haglers face at 8:07 this was just a great fucking fight. |

i agree, that was a bad fight. Leonard had'nt fought in a few years, never at middle, detatched retina, bad fight.
i thought that if Mugabi had moved to his left more, that would negate Haglers power at southpaw, give him more leverage to throw the wild right. |

| Hagler is one of those fighters caught in a funny/in-between generation. had he been around 7 yrs earlier, he would of had Benvenutti, Tiger, Griffith, Monzon... Had he been around later, he would of had Norris, Jackson, Nunn, McCallum,Toney... Instead it was Auntofermo,Hamsho,Roldan,Obelmajias and blown up welters.except Monzon, he could beat any one of the fighters mentioned but he would have had a better career had he been around earlier or later. |
