Thank you to all of the people that posted a positive response, "melvin bliss"(now:Mel Bliss)is alive & kicking & has a jazz cd called:"Mix It Up"...u can google it. I am his son: "mel jr" & was thrilled to find this on "you tube", i was not really that aware of how much the song was sampled(he hasn't seen a dime)& that there were fans out there as well. He would love to hear from his fans at: 718-413-2444 & has a recording studio in queens(under his sir name:"Melvin McClelland"/"Studio B")LOL

This is "Mel JR" & i have posted info on my dad currently, he still sings & so do i. We are thrilled that there is still an interest in this song which was a b-side to his other song called:"reward", we no longer have copies of these songs(though i think he has a reel 2 reel)but he still performs/is for hire & has two children. He grew up in chicago, is now single & his muse is "Nat King Cole". He is a passionate gemini when it come to music & is into helping others with their craft...holla!!!

That's great to hear. Too bad he's not making any money, this track was actually a B side to the track Reward. I doubt even the original producer or song writer Herb Rooney is making money off this track. Mel Sr. probably would make more money if he had kept a bunch of the 45s for himself and sold them off one by one every few months on Ebay!
