George Foreman also said Archie Moore would panic everytime something would go wrong, not really the message you want to send you fighter.

Ray Arcel stable of fighters and ring knowledge is really unsurpassed. No mentioned Whitey Bimstein.

Coach Freddie is the best coach no doubt. 7th title in different weight divisions.Enough said..

Is that why Angelo started off as Ray Arcel's spit bucket boy??Angelo has nothing on Arcel or Blackburn..Blackburn gave Joe Louis his style and if ya haven't noticed,is the same style Sugar Ray Robinson had..

  9. Nov 11, 2009 at 05:26 AM by jonnyblaze0187

Futch as well as Ken wished they had continued working together..I read that in Ken Norton's book..Norton is a great guy..I met him and got to talk to him 1 on 1 for about an hour..He's really funny..

  10. Nov 11, 2009 at 05:23 AM by jonnyblaze0187

Very true..Holyfield took it all outta Bowe and is the cause of why Bowe is the way he is now..Holyfield is a beast and an all time great..

The best trainers were #1 Ray Arcel #2 Jack Blackburn...I really like Teddy Atlas and Lou Duva as well..I don't know how Buddy M. is on here cause he's a really bad trainer..hahaha..Also,Archie Moore was left out of this mix..Archie made Foreman and Sandy Saddler harder punchers..Saddler was the hardest punching featherweight ever in history..I don't know how he got left out..

  14. Sep 15, 2009 at 12:39 AM by Jimmynable

Sorry I forgot to say a bit of topic but still R.I.P Patrick Swayze :(

  15. Sep 15, 2009 at 12:30 AM by Jimmynable

Don't quote me on that cos I'm not 100% sure but if he did it probably stems from him pulling Joe out of the 3rd Ali fight I know the fell out about it I'm not sure if they ever reconciled. Futch pulled him out of the fight as a friend not a trainer he thought of Joe's well being more than Joe himself did he knew about his health problems and did the right thing IMO.

Riddick Bowe had the ability but was not profesional enough to be great.A prime Bowe would give a hard fight to anybody. He was amazingly good on the inside for a big guy.

  17. Sep 14, 2009 at 04:16 PM by rannntanplan13

really? did futch say that, i didnt know that. but i love ken norton s fighting style. unbelievable defense.unorthodox, but effective how he crossed his arms in front of his face. i love seeing him block punches.he didnt duck under punches, he blocked the punches with his own glove by "punching" the opponent s glove from the side.

  18. Sep 14, 2009 at 03:19 PM by Jimmynable

Agreed it was a faded Bow who fought Golota, prime Bowe probably wouldn't have struggled with him. Interesting thing I heard was that Futch when he chose to carry on training Frazier and not Norton I heard somewhere he regretted doing that nad wished he had stayed with Norton, don't know how true that is.

  19. Sep 14, 2009 at 02:57 PM by rannntanplan13

i think bowe didnt survive the wars with holyfield. when he fought golota, he had nothing left, golota totally dominated him in those fights and would have knocked him out if he wouldnt have been such a dirty f*ck.

  20. Sep 14, 2009 at 02:29 PM by Jimmynable

Bowe was very talented but his attitude and his eating problems went against him two wins against a prime Holyfield counts for a lot IMO especially when he was beating him at his own game. I think its a very good list but considering Cus learned so much off Goldman who had 5 world champions when fighters didn't switch trainers like they do today I would have him over some of those guys but at least he's mentioned in the comments.

  21. Sep 14, 2009 at 02:17 PM by rannntanplan13

yeah goldman would belong in there too.marciano wouldnt have had that career without him.but i am limited in time (song length) to show more trainers. i think i made a good list, 19 of the best ever.eddie futch is one of my favorites too.he trained frazier, ken norton, riddick bowe and many others.btw he once said that riddick bowe is the best heavyweight he ever trained...

  22. Sep 14, 2009 at 01:28 PM by Jimmynable

Hard to say which one is the greatest trainer I would say Futch if I had to pick one. He taught Roach and his champions were numerous with a few legends in there.

  23. Sep 14, 2009 at 11:58 AM by Jimmynable

Great video only complain I have is that I didn't see Charley Goldman on there he needs to be.

  24. Sep 13, 2009 at 12:22 PM by swedishtysonfan

First of all-another great vid ranntanplan!Only a real boxing lover comes up with this idea and have some old timers in there like you did. This together with the defense vid makes you tied now with Rooster as the best vid maker on the tube in my opinion. My favourites(and I respect everybody in this vid)right now is:Roach and Steward-so much knowledge but so different in their teachings.
