Except it was all painted up garish reds and greens. I can't believe that tastelessness with all that pure white marble.

I do believe there are exceptions for major TV networks who likely donate their programming to Youtube... one gets advertising through the other, so I imagine it's worth it for both parties. Whatever the method... woot! Documentaries for me.

@d1versify If the uploader's account was created prior to a certain date (I think some point during 2007), they are allowed to upload videos longer than 10 minutes.

The one that marked this comment as a poor one should open some history of architecture and generally historical books, and read instead of judging istorical facts on youtube...

You are right, Parthenon belongs to us, we are the world. No one has right to destroy signs of history. they must preserve for generations to come. These belong to world not any country or religion.

Ancient Greece is not only Athens. It is a shame that no one talks about a much better preserved monument, the Temple of Epikourius Apollon in Figalia, Peloponesus

The recognition of the subtlities in the Parthenon's construction are hardly new - have a look at Banister Fletcher's tabulation of optical corrections for example . Democracy does not employ invasion ...

The recognition of the Parthenon's constructional subtlties is not so new - have a look at Banister Fletcher's tabulation of optical corrections employed in it's construction for example. Democracy does not employ invasion .

When they finish the restoration I hope that they put a remake of the statue of Athena in there. Whether or not you believe in her, it doesn't matter, she was a big part of the city and you have to be respectful, the Parthenon won't be the same unless she is in it agian.
