It's getting there :) But yeah. Pernell is a top 30 of all time, in my mind. Only Roy Jones has been more impressive since 1985.

no doubt I think Mayweather deserves a bit of rest for a few months this year but would like to see him get in the ring by the end of this year at least, it's good for boxing, by then we might have seen Cotto/DLH and I hope Cotto beats DLH and then they can set up the megafight Cotto/Mayweather in early 08, honestly I'd like to see them fight this year forget DLH, he's washed up anyway..but Cotto can make a big money fight and increase his exposure.

I'd love to see Cotto unify a title or two and fight Mayweather in December. Either fight Cintron or Williams. That way, the fight with Floyd will take on new meaning, for the 'undisputed' welterweight title. PS I'd love that fight. I think you'd see the same thing as Hatton - Mayweather, in that Cotto would bring the best out in Floyd.

one thing about pernell and mayweather. pernell has faced better opponents and made them look silly. mayweather beats opponents but sometimes barely. of course a win is a win, but making an elite fighter look useless takes talent you rarely see, especially in this day and age. mayweather has looked really good on some opponents, but at times he can look dodgey. pernell always looked good in hes prime :)

That's because for one, Pernell took more risks, and was a much more offensively inclined fighter. Two, he fought more dangerous opposition.

Top 20 of all time, top 30 is a given. Pea ranks higher than Roy all time, due to having a much better wins resume. On ability, they are close, and you could give Roy the slight edge, but on accomplishment, Pea takes the cake.

man did he even in his drug years he fought a actually buckled Trinidad to the body...he beat Chavez but Don and Jose' pulled strings to get a draw..he gave DLH a real boxing lesson and was robbed but he fought everyone

One of the things I loved about Pernell is he had a sense of humour. God, he made me laugh at times. The pat on Nelson's bottom when they got tangled up...the slap in the face behind his back. You can see him having fun, in a pressure situation, and it's not nasty.
