u serious? he might never have dropped but he was taking punishment n bernard has heavy hands. it's when takin lots of punches the acumulation does real damage n johnson was never close to a comeback in the fight. good stoppage preventing unecessary injury. n a good fight, thanks

when i first saw this fight i agreed with you... in a sense of a boxer taking to much punishment. but i believe this was more of a case that glen johnson just dident have a way to win the fight, johnson was just catching punches.... alot where on his gloves but there where still alot of semi flush and flush power shots that his defense couldent catch and made this contest turn into a one side affair instead of a competetive boxing match.

Glen Johnson gained more muscle and was much stronger at 175 and more experienced from 2004 to now. This was in 1997

More experienced, yes; stronger, debatable. Fast twitch muscles and energy levels are not the same in your mid to late thirties as they are in your twenties. And in 2008, Glen is well into old age in boxing years.

bernard's a beast, lately he's not been the most entertaining, but still, gotta give the man his credit for being in the p4p ranks at 43. He didn't belong in the ring with Jermain Taylor, he's twice his age, no matter how good Hopkins is, 25 vs. 40 yrs old, the age will catch up with you.

And I still gave a lot of rounds to Hopkins in those fights. I guess the second one could be a draw. Had the first one gone 15 rounds, Jermain was getting stopped.

I thought Bernard lost both fights, basically because he only fought 12 of the 24 rounds. but It's hard to keep up with someone half your age, and I'm sure there's no other 41 year old that could have hung in with Jermain better than Bernard did.

I dont think there are anybody in this era who can go 15 rounds with Bernard Hopkins.. They gonna have to knock him out before he knocks them out.. But why arent there 15 rounds anymore??

Glen Johnson is not similar to Bryant Brannon at all.
If you saw Johnson's fight against Dawson you would've noticed the way he can defend himself well even while coming forward.
Brannon on the other hand defended punches with his weak chin.
Johnson gives a good fight even to prime Jones. He loses but he would do much better than most of the guys Roy used to fight.
