joe fought for first time at lightheavy, in the u.s, u.s. ref, u.s. juges in bhops backyard. the only disadvantage bhop had was age.joe gambled big time, bhop gambled nothing. calzaghe deserves to be recognised.

Hopkins vs. Calzaghe was pushed by the media, but I was disappointed by the fight. The decision of the 3rd (last) referee was a joke. Perhaps Calzaghe won the fight, but it was close. Both boxers haven't impressed me much in this fight.

i will never lose to a white boy!!!!! i will never lose to a witeboy!!! i will never lose to a white boy!!!! talk about one of your all time back fires, great show by calzaghe, i think the only thing that kept it so close was hopkins dirty tricks, how many times did he grap joes head??? i lost count, and cortez doing hes typical euro bashin of late, he was wrong to go into calzaghes corner and shout so openly at calzaghe without even warning hopkins about hes cheating, imo, it was close!

Nice to see a couple of yanks talking sense! You called it absolutely spot on so well done. I have to admit though ( and I am a Brit ) I'm unsure whether Joe would have beaten Hopkins 5 years ago. It would be interesting to hear your opinions. Joe had that little bit extra in speed and athleticism and I think that's what beat Hopkins. Cheers, Gazza

You cant say Hopkins is the greatest old man fighter, George Foreman, the man who ones got kayod by Ali, made a comeback in the late 90's and kayod his way to the title, he kayod a guy who beat young Holyfield, thats a testament to the greatest era in boxing, which Ali dominated. A man Ali dominated when you won the title at age of 45...

Hopkins really impressed me. He never looked in trouble and actually looked like taking a ko early on. His bombs landed very well. Calzaghe used his stamina to throw a steady stream of punches but looked shaky and never hurt Hopkins. The right decision in the end but chin up old man! Bhop challenged a great fighter and i thought he was gonna get fucked but fought a good fight but was simply outworked by a younger, fitter fighter! Calzaghe v RJJ!

your exactly right arsenal...by the way there are honest americans and im one of em. Joe is the best all around boxer in the world. Hopkins was completely controlled by Joe, and he never actually got Joe in trouble. Joe took a split second to get up from that first round knock down like it didnt even happen. Hopkins fought dirty and ran the whole fight. he knew he had to after he caught him and he got up immediately...cause he knew he wouldnt survive a sustained exchange with Joe

Joe did do 3 low blows, its on camera, i find it insane some people ignore them. Also, Joe DID win [split desision] but fight wise i wouldnt say so, why? Joe's face was busted up, swollen and cut [watch post fight] while B Hops face didnt have a scratch...no joke. Joe slaps, he can get away with that style because of his iron chin. Still, a 43 year old B Hops gave him the fight of his life, a split ud, i wouldnt say Joe is the best fighter/p4p on earth, im just being realistic, hes good though!

I don't think people do ignore them, rounds arn't scored by who has the most cuts or bumps! Joe tagged bhop loads acording to boxcomp Joe landed the most shots on Bhop ever,ok so they might not be powerful but they still hurt/slow a fighter down, that was the game plan and Bhop couldn't live with the pace! Dunno about best p4p Cotto,Pac man n co might have something to say about that. But JC is the best fighter at 2/3 weights/belt holder for 10years where I dont see any other boxer can say that!
