wow, this fight ... ( 5 months ago by Whyavier)
wow, this fight looks a lot more even than just watching pieces of it did. The documentaries make it seem like ali wasn't putting up much of a fight but only about halfway to round eight george is looking bad.
if you are talking ... ( 4 months ago by sprite730)
if you are talking about Ali Rap, you are right. I dont know if they were trying to build hype for the documentary or something but the fight was pretty close, and "Ali is winning all the way for me." I forgot the guy's name who was being interviewed but he said something like, i knew he had to knock him out to win or something, which was clearly not necessary.

The strategy of ... ( 4 months ago by arcaylan)
The strategy of Ali's camp in wearing off George Foreman has paid off, since they fight in a hot invironment.. The original schedule of the fight was moved one month because of the sustained eye injury of George on training.. The main thing is that Ali's camp as well, "the greatest", managed to test and pulled a great victory over George Foreman.. And the fight was staged to be one of the greatest Heavy weight boxing match... Peace to all... Respect!!!
By the way, Ali's ... ( 4 months ago by arcaylan)
By the way, Ali's camp figured out that George Foreman has lesser stamina to sustain a 12 round fight with, "the greatest".
Ali's defensive ... ( 4 months ago by improvmaniac)
Ali's defensive skills are unreal. The sweet science. The man knows when to duck for cover. Foreman came within a millionth of an inch of knocking out Ali. What a fight. I love this sport.

wow ali is a tank
Well.... the ... ( 3 months ago by Snorrason)
Well.... the rope-a-dope strategy was his idea. Opening him self for punches to wear Foreman out. Today this strategy is less used cause boxers don't get so easily fooled by it these days. I mean, look at 05:40, this is where Ali finally starts attacking Foreman cause Ali can see how tired he is.
Ali could take it ... ( 3 months ago by carpsio)
Ali could take it and give it, man. Foreman was all about power and stamina. During training, he would often go 15 rounds with fast sparring partners with only 30 seconds rest between rounds - and if you've seen him hitting the heavy bag... shit! Anyway, Ali's ring smarts were in another league that night. Foreman had one idea "blast him outta there" and Ali just took it. Those last 30 seconds of Rnd 5 must have shook George to the core...
I think ali thought ... ( 3 months ago by maxymyllyon)
I think ali thought originally this would be the round to close out foreman, but he didnt go down, so he changed it to the eighth.
maxymyllyon, At the ... ( 3 months ago by alant17)
maxymyllyon, At the end of rd 5, when George started to get his momentum going again, Ali came off the ropes and stopped him in his tracks. Just like the earlier rounds while George was expending a great deal of energy Ali would pick a few good shots, just enough to break up George's focus, but not expend himself knowing that if he did George was still fresh enough to take it. When Dundee told Ali to finish it now, Ali said 'he had his turn, now it's mine, I'm going to have some fun'
had ali landed that ... ( 2 months ago by gmaydane86)
had ali landed that left straight then i think that would have floored foreman anyways that last 35 seconds of round 5 was incredible
