u should always use handwraps or inner gloves inside mitts or gloves. Handwraps/Inner gloves are purely for your own protection, they cushion the knuckles and support the hand and wrists! but mitts/gloves provide the main protection to the impact if u are just using a speed ball or doing light work then mitts will do but heavy bag work requires gloves.

yea use wraps cos i once fought it'd be or8 to wear just gloves while using the punchbag, it peels your skin off around your knuckles and you dont notice until u hav finished ur session and it is irritating while training andtakes a while to heal because you are constantly punching.

yea hes right. i box and im 15 and my coach noticed that i was throwin wrong and he showed me the scar on his hand where the bone connecting to his knuckle broke and went threw his skin.....nasty stuff.

always wear hand wraps the reason why is it will tear skin and it will inflict damage to the knuckles and wrists and might mess them up for years if you don't have hand wraps

i didnt say he was the best. he is a amatuer boxer. but fat have nothing to do with it. and if you run laps, lift weights, your going to eventually loose some weight. so training might have somthing to do with the best boxers not having fat
