I watched mma fights a couple of times and i notice there are kicks done to the outside/inside thigh of the opponent... why do people do kicks to the thigh? I've heard people say it tires out the opponent...?? Seems more plausible to knock them off balance briefly so they open up for a punch or something, but why don't you go lower towards the foot to do that? it hurts like a ... But they also kick in the thighs because if you really hurt those muscles it is quite painful to move, thus making your opponent move slower and an easier target. They also kick in the thighs as opposed to the feet/lower leg because it is a lot easier to move your foot out of the way than your thigh, so any smart fighter would go for the easier target i.e. the thigh.
