In 1999 29199 people committed suicide in the US. 16599 of those involved firearms. Looking at those number you realize that Budds death isnt unique. It's tragic and sadly, very common. People who commit suicide are in pain, they're confused and they feel alone. I cannot explain why Budd took his own life, but after reading his journals and talking to his family, I understand his pain and his reasons for wanting to rid himself of it. Suicide is not an admission of guilt its an admission of pain.

You ask what kind of person does that? I'll tell you, R.Budd Dwyer. We all have to end the 'show' sooner or later right? Some people live for something and some live for nothing. This just could be a case where an honest man was set up to spend the rest of his life in prison but he did something special that day but most of you can't even see it!

I don't know anything except the basic story, and for all I know, that's the truth. However, props to you for making this documentary. Even if he was guilty as the said, I am always glad to see the wider picture. There are people in history who seem to be stuck doing the same thing -- James Moody answers the phone from the crow's nest on the Titanic in every movie. That's him preserved forever, a real man who had a real life. Dwyler is a sick joke and a T-shirt for metal bands. But he was real.

Magic papers' were indeed found in Mr. Dwyer's house. In addition it was noted that they were obviously intentionally concealed. Such papers, pointed to his willingness to participate in the behaviour for which he was convicted.

My information is not wrong. I have the court documents, police investigations, etc somewhere in my house. I was involved the the case. What evidence do you have? Mr. Dwyer's word? Mr. Dwyer was convicted, and rightly so, on eleven criminal counts. Dwyer's convictions were not reversed despite appeals 5 days after his death.
As we all know he awarded the FICA recovery contract to CTA- despite having extremely lower bids..why? Smith Dwyer
$300,000 for the contract; 1/3 a personal

I do question why your trailor is, once again, images of Dwyer's final press conference, and the blood and gore associated with it.. Ultimately his final act did NOTHING for his case: except render him a sight for mostly disturbed teenagers and young adults...

I dont know if he was guilty or not. But according to the law, you are innocent until proven guilty in the courts. He was PROVEN guilty. PROVEN, by a non Partisan jury. He may have been honest, or he may not have been. But I'm not sympathetic to rich politicians who get kickbacks while the poor suffer. There are many innocent men in jail for LIFE. LIFE. They live with that hanging over their heads. If he was REALLY innocent, there was a much better way of proving that then suicide.

The documentary will focus primarily on the CTA scandal and Budd's court case. Obviously we are going to cover his suicide but the primary focus of the doc is to expand on the information people haven't heard. This isn't going to be Faces of Death.
