There is no need to make fun of the way Tommy Hearns speaks guys. Tommy was always a good person and he fought with honor in the ring. Let the man be.

Tommy has always spoken with a slow drag. Look back to 1981 and his speech is very similar mechanically. But what I was told by someone close to him was that he has a severe problem with his sinus which limits his vocal clarity. You can hear the nasl delivery. Not saying hes not at least a little punchy but u can see his memory and comprehension is sharp.

I love all those legends from that era (Hagler, Hearns, Sugar Ray, Duran). Win or lose, Tommy always let it all hang out and those times he got knocked out he went down guns blazing. Great fighter with freakish power

I don't think Hearns is really that screwed up in the head. He's always spoken with that kind of drag. It became a lot harder to understand him after the second Barley fight, I think it has something to do with that INCREDIBLE amount of damage to his nose, could have screwed up his sinuses. And considering he fought until he was in his 40s, I'd say he's ended up pretty well.

oh my god, tommy is almost gone. As much as i love boxing (I'm a kickboxer myself) I can't help but fringe and question myself about its risks. In less then 10 years tommy will be almost completely brain-dead, an empty shell of the brave man he used to be...
