He was sentenced to 24 months. The court credited him 6 months for time served already and he can get out 100 days early for good behavior. Then when he has 6 months left in his sentence he will be transferred to a halfway house and allowed to start training for his next fight.

Kirkland needs to work on his defense if he wants to be an elite fighter. Any fighter that has power and counter punching would of destroyed him.

Kirkland is an exciting fighter but I can't say that he has greatness written on him. Never saw him as a future pound 4 pounder. But he does have a good punch and he takes a good one too. A slick counter puncher would have undone him, though.

Its true, I went to see the fight in person. You can't really tell on television, but it looked like Julio was going down at the end of the fight. He was exhausted, and it looked like he was going to get knocked out.

erislandy lara would eat kirland alive. i'm not the only one who knows this. look at other comments, or better yet look at his videos, and see how technical lara is, and how he has mastered the sweet science, with only 6 pro fights, and over 400 amatuer fights.

kirklands an amazing fighter..but hes too open..with the right technichal training he could be unstoppable. i dont like how he jus walks in to his opponent and gets caught with soo many shots. someone like mayweather sr, roach or roger shud take him on board.
