1936, does that make it the oldest thing ever shown on MST3k?

Personally I didn't like the way he would play up to the camera. By jumping on a crocs back for example and rolling about in the mud with it just to make better TV. The animals seemed like they where not fighting him just trying to get away:( It always annoyed me. more like an entertainer than a conservationist.

Uh no because they are actually funny. This is supposed to be humorous ya know?So quit your bitching.

  10. Oct 31, 2009 at 12:33 AM by keen14you

Remindful, except for Steve's dedication to conservation (ie, he didn't trap animals for zoos just for entertainment, simply because their environment was decimated). The mention of "prick" and Steve Irwin in the same statement shows that you are the type of human Steve worked so hard to protect the wild against.

Okay, if no one should give a fuck because it happened, I guess that should include Joel & co., without whom this short wouldn't have been made for your amusement. Maybe you'd sound differently in front of them.

As for the "racist" comments towards the Seminole......who gives a fuck? You think thats bad?Huh yeah guess what.Black people were called niggers on a regular basis back then. Are you pissed off about that too?Well.........you might as well get over it because it happened.

  13. Oct 27, 2009 at 01:29 PM by bigjess71

Some of you assholes need to lighten up.Why get bent out of shape over something that happened 70 years ago?lol Thats fuckin stupid. The baby bears were pissed off they were'nt hurt.

I checked on IMDB. "Catching Trouble" was made in 1936. Way before the 1950's. The world was (sadly in some ways) very, very different 73 years ago. Ross Allen apparently mellowed out later and became more focused on scientific observation, research, and publications. Probably later regretted this movie. Narrator/writer/editor is partly to blame too and seemed pretty racist towards the Seminole.

"This is what you get for not being a white male." ROFL!! Am I the only minority who finds this friggin' funny?

  16. Oct 24, 2009 at 01:47 AM by CaptMARNEY

Oh my god, now my stomach hurts. Now to see the "Catching Ross" segment!

  17. Oct 23, 2009 at 11:59 PM by bigjess71

"SSSSHHH Wait I hear something living."lmfao

Which itself is a remarkably parochial comment. As though white males were the only oppressors, or the only brokers of power.

Oh yes, we're so much more enlightened now. Yes yes, we have all the answers. We kill our children and save the whales!

    Ross is a prick.

  21. Oct 10, 2009 at 09:33 AM by choc113

This prick reminds me of Steve Irwin, right down to the disturbing shorts:(

  23. Sep 29, 2009 at 08:14 PM by jscharpf

yeah I was kind of thinking the same thing.. weird..

  24. Sep 26, 2009 at 08:20 PM by textthing

    ....Yeah. Conservation. I got it.

  25. Sep 26, 2009 at 07:05 PM by GusF

The pleasure that Ted Husing seems to take when he is catching the poor bear cub is very disturbing, frankly. I'll tell you one thing, Joel wasn't the only one who wanted to see its mother. As hilarious as the riffing is for this short, I can't watch too often because it infuriates me.
