hearns would've won even with hearns' hand. hagler chargered his whole career and was very good at slipping shots approaching, then counter-punching. hearns gets frustrated and switches to uppercuts when hagler comes in. but hearns' uppercuts didn't have the power of his overhands. too, most of hearns kos came when stalking a guy, stepping into his punches. his lower body was too slow to plant and deliver without telegraphing. hagler would have koed him in the 5th.

tommy got his legs massaged before d bout by a entourage member causing his muscles to relax n be less explosive n powerful(gon in rnd1). yet he managed to win rnd1, until he broke his hand to. now he couldn't box 100% cuz of his legs or fight 100% due to his KO punch being taken away. he had power in his left to, but it was mainly to d body, which u can't go to against hagler. he had a great jab but once hagler realized it didn't follow wit a right he had him.

round 1 brilliant, and great fight, no doubts. but has anyone counted how many times hagler went below the belt in round 1? I counted 4 before the ref told him to lift his gloves.

This is without doubt the best fight i've seen, These two guys came out fighting from the first round, not the 'chase me round the ring until we're knackered crap', that we see so often now. HAGLER was awesome, the boxers around today, couldn't lace his boots. we are talking 15 round fighters.
