I think you're totally wrong, to be honest. If you ask any young Swede he or she knows who Greta Garbo is. Most young people know who Ingrid Bergman is too, but perhaps people have a harder time recognizing her name. Not all young people are ignorant and uninterested in these things. I'm swedish and currently living in Sweden too.

Some of the lines said " GG is undoubtadly the most well known Swede" Come on. She is not even the most well known Swedish actress. Its Ingrid Bergman the three time winning Oscar Academy winner. However, if you ask any young Swede nobody has ever heard of them before. Im Libyan but currently live in Sweden.

I am always frustrated because in the black and white movies, I can not appreciate the real young greta garbo in full color. Well I found her CONTEMPORARY DOUBLE check in you tube Miss universe 1977 interview in the 5:50 minute, and grasp your air, when you see miss holland. She is the living portrait of young garbo!!!!! even her husky voice!!!

Garbo is adorable and guarded, Marlene is sexy and fabulous. Nuff said lol.

Greta is adorable, but poor girl im convinced something happened to her to make her so guarded. Its not normal to be that way so obsessively.

Sverige måste vart mycket bättre på den tiden... nu är det ett av världens tråkigaste länder. Alla är deprimerade här under halva året också. Och film är inte vad det brukade vara, inte heller musiken(melodifestivalen LOL)...

Det var hon säkert... Det var ju ett helt företag att ta sig över halva världen 1929. Inte gjort i en handvändning, så det kunde ju dröja länge innan hon återsåg gamla Sverige. Dessutom var hon ju bunden av sina kontrakt...

Hon kanske var ledsen över att resa ifrån Sverige!?

g short film called 'Meeting of Two Queens' (Encuentro entre dos Reinas) made by a Spanish independent filmmaker, in which Marlene's and Garbo's images are edited together. Never seen it. I'm looking for it myself. It's a pity the two queens of cinema were never really in collaboration in any film.
