This is Napoleon singing, the song is Dickie's Such An Asshole, it is very similar to the version on YCDTOSA Vol. 2 but not exactly the same. There is also another version of this song on the cassette tape "sampler" of the YCDTOSA series, which has a better guitar solo and a different ending.

i agree with worried. and hell, have you read what the Dead had to do to release 2 from the Vault? now thats some concert necromancy right there.

If they don't release one of the greatest performances of the twentieth century then the human race will suffer- not just Zappa fans.

Read an interview with Dweezil a year or two ago.. Said that this isn't coming out.. There isn't enough money to do a proper mix/sync. The soundtrack is in quad and there is no way to economically mix it today because the equipment need to mix it virtually nonexistent today..

  13. May 19, 2009 at 12:28 PM by fixxer746

It's from the song Dickie's Such An Asshole, which is on YCDTOSA Vol. 3. and also Broadway The Hardway

  14. May 14, 2009 at 06:21 PM by monovak

It's actually Napoleon Murphy Brock. I cannot tell you from which song does the excerpt come from. I don't recall hearing it on neither Roxy & Elsewhere or YCDTOSA Vol. 2. Might have been improvisation.

what is the part where Ike Willis (is it him?) does the preacher thing "let me tell you right now/right here" etc.?? never heard that before (and heard a lot of Zappa, mind you) thanks.

    please put out this DVD!

  17. May 9, 2009 at 08:01 PM by monovak

Well, we could also say Baby Snakes was Sheik Yerbouti without the overdubs. Nobody ever cared. Those two releases make one to me.

im sure this has been said a million times. but i am going to kill myself if this doesnt come out within the next 2 years. i think the zappa family are cautious because it isnt what people are expecting. judging by what ive seen i think the roxy and elsewhere album has had the shit dubbed out of it (not saying thats a bad thing) and people will wonder about the album not matching the dvd. just my idea.

  19. May 6, 2009 at 02:58 PM by AlexLenke

They will probably release it December 9, 2013.....
