It should still hav a decent amount of power.
Its not soley for pawing out and keeping and opponent at bay its also very usefull with power behind it. A weak jab will give ur opponent all the more reason to come steaming in.

I don't know why he isn't putting some power behind the jab, otherwise he looks good. Joe Lewis could knock you out just with his left jab!

You don't have to use so much power for the jab,Just put your body in to it.The jab used in boxing is mostly used for setting up your opponent,If you put to much energy in the jab,You'll get tired very quickly.I like the jab that he's throwing,You can hear that pop.

Well Nat...see ... ( 1 month ago by 5X5Rocks)
Well Nat...see practice is deffinately the mother of all skills. I been boxing since i was 6 or 7 and at first was only given the jab to work with..then once i became proficient we moved onto other punches....more practice..then basic combinations...more practice..then more advanced combinations...practice practice practice. If someone just hurls at ya "gimme 1-2-3-4-1-1 (which in my gym would mean left jab, right cross, left hook, right uppercut, left jab , left jab) you'd be all out of synch...
and then thats why ... ( 1 month ago by 5X5Rocks)
and then thats why we practice so much and so hard...combinations and individual punches become second nature..a coach can throw up a load of numbers 1-1-2...1-2-3-1 whatever he chooses and you'll know straight off what to do. Remember when you do finally step in the ring thats it, its no longer practice you dont want to be stood there taking a crisp jab from some guy while windering what you need to be doing. Plus it instills confidence in your technique which in my opinion is vital.
i totally agree, ... ( 1 month ago by Nat3skiz)
i totally agree, but i don't believe practise is the easy part. It involves mastering a range of skills and this takes lots of time, patience and effort. I admit that after all the practise, it becomes second nature and you really notice how much help its been.
