I hated Marc's music when it all charted but I have a great affection for it now.

I bet Antony danced to Soft Cell in his room. This is a beautiful video.

The majority of people posting, so far, have been quite cruel and I think with a bit more info you may rethink your assaults. A few years ago Marc Almond was in a terrible motorbike accident that left him brain-damaged. When he finally woke up he had no recollection of who he was, and when friends showed him photos and footage of his prior stardom he was quite amazed. It has taken Marc many years to recover, he had to relearn everything; how to sing, how to write songseverything!

This is a truly heart-felt performance Antony being a huge fan of Marcs invited him to sing on his stage and you can tell from Antonys expression that he is delighted with the result. I personally think about this performance often; Marc Almond is an outstanding and awesome talent and he does this song beautiful and sincere justice. Remember to love before you judge.

That's like saying a "sincere" paint-by-numbers rendition is equal to one by Rembrandt. Sure, singing is an art, but if you can't even maintain the pitch, you are NOT an artist and should get the Hell off the stage!!

dear lawrence, please don't confuse art with craft. operating on the heart takes skill and dexterity, moving the heart takes infinetly more...

There are two kinds of singers alright......those who can and those who can't. Saying that a musical performer's "character" is just as important as his pitch is like saying a surgeon's character is just as important as his skill with a scalpel. Sorry, pal, but I'll choose the doctor who won't screw up in the operating room, over the one who's a "nice guy" but might remove my liver instead of my kidney. Job #1 for a singer is to sing ON KEY!!!!

I'm confused. At times he's in, at times he's just flat. I'm sure it's not an easy song to sing. Bravo for Marc's courage to sing Antony's song. Antony's voice is beyond heavenly and impossible to replace.

Davvero emozionante! Antony รจ un angelo...

I'm actually obsessed with this version. Marc's spirit proceed's him and completely fills up this performance. I see all the weak points everyone is pointing out but they are just dwarfed by the fact that it's Marc Almond dueting with Antony. The first time I found this clip I watched it five times.

I agree, this song can not be singed by anyone but Antony.

I don't think anybody could touch Antony on this song, but Marc did a great job. That song demands heart and soul and he gave it.

    Marc you are a god

  21. Sep 4, 2009 at 04:45 AM by irismelis

Indeed, marc almond adds just new notes to the exsisting ones, his way of singing is therefore exciting and full of character Love them both.

  22. Aug 29, 2009 at 01:16 PM by bribold

There are two kinds of singers: Those with perfect pitch and those with character. (Some have both). Marc can sing well but has a smaller range than most, so he can get stretched vocally. Who cares - he has loads of personality and character - he's lived a full and difficult life. Like Tom Waits and Bob Dylan. They've written great songs too. So Marc can sing the phonebook for all I care - he's allowed to. I'll prefer Mssrs Waits, Dylan, Hegarty and Almond over Celine Dingdong or Maria Crabby.

HM... I just wanna respect Antony's opinion of him ... but I think I've got my own... BOOOO Marc Almond cannot sing Do you know 'Total Eclipse' by Klaus Nomi? He raped it with Rosenstolz!

  24. Aug 19, 2009 at 03:04 PM by wwwyoutubbbecom

WTF!!! He can't sing at all! How can he stand there with Antony!

  25. Aug 16, 2009 at 02:09 PM by aniorz
