The focus of Hopos training is the trainer. His trainer makes himself the centre of attention. Making someone become conditioned to pain is no way to train a fighter. Pain is part of the deal. The trainer should be helping him to become complete, through defence / attack / fitness etc and also assist in developing a game plan. Hopo needs an experienced tainer who fascilitates his training not live out what he did not acheive himself.

The last heavy with any good credibility was Kali Meehan....before that, Aussie Joe (although despite his age he was always going to get title)...Bob Mirovich was respectable (giving Danny Willams a good scrap - but age caught up with him) are three of the more prominant heavy weight Aussie champs in the last 12 years or so...but, you are right - we could do better!! hoppa is one of the main reasons why aussie heavyweight boxing is considered a joke by true boxing purists. the australian heavyweight title meant something once , you had to be bloody good to hold the belt , a wild crude slugger with a glass jaw , hands down defence , paul upton and all his sports editor mates giving this imposter credibility , christ we got blokes off the streets in the isa that could beat hopoate if given a chance , one love tap on the chin and its all over.
