frank and the mothers were a genre all there own never to this day appreciated by the masses but who cares most peoples taste is in there mouth look at whats popular

And I apologise in response to the guys a few comments behind me. I just think most people think of frank as weird, whereas he was perhaps the single most diverse and musically advanced individual in the business. Beethoven's music just doesn't seem anywhere near as thought-out. Even if you compare Beethoven's music to Frank's classical stuff like the LSO albums and the yellow shark. But don't just listen to me. Opinions are like arseholes, half the time they're full of shit.

"Beeethoven look like the amateur he was" , haha probably the most stupid thing i've heard. Both Zappa and Bhoven were great, no need for infantile comments.

  9. Sep 27, 2009 at 09:48 PM by amart7

While your point of calling Beethoven an amateur automatically voids any credibility of your claim, I should point out that spontaneity does not determine the level of musical ability a composer has. Also, that Frank Zappa is not under-rated; many universities offer courses analyzing his music in detail. Your claim must be in response to the general public, 80% of who listen to nothing but what is on the radio.

Actually there was a lot of improvisation in the Baroque period.

  11. Sep 11, 2009 at 03:35 PM by PneRobinho619

Frank Zappa is probably the most underated musician that ever lived. In a few decades time people are going to wake up and realise that he made Beethoven look like the amatuer he was. Classical musicians always had a problem with being sponteneous, Frank didn't.
