i am a huge jackson fan ! He was so simlar to Nigel Benn ! what a fight that would have been!
Definitely one of ... ( 1 month ago by lockplay)
Definitely one of the top p4p hardest hitters of all time. The fight between him and Gerald McClellan, matched two of the greatest p4p hardest hitters in boxing at that time! maybe all time, i feel...
Jackson was a bit ... ( 1 month ago by thelaughingduck2001)
Jackson was a bit past his best though, and never really had a great chin.
I'd rate Jackson as THE hardest P4P puncher of all-time. Arguello, Shavers and Hearns may have had better right hands, Khaosai Galaxy may have had a better left, but in terms of K.O power in both fists, Jackson is the man.
throw a punch at ... ( 1 month ago by thelaughingduck2001)
throw a punch at someone. if it connects and they fall like a tree, then you have comparable power!
all jokes aside, power can be taught. Tommy Hearns was feather-fisted until Manny Steward took him under his wing, and now look at his record!

actually, on re-viewing, he has the two best hands in history, no doubt. Poor Terry Norris lol

Number 1 Greatest P4P in History Sugar ray Robinson
Robinson was great ... ( 4 weeks ago by fonseca71)
Robinson was great but he wouldn't dominate the middleweights like he did then. He would be a welterweight today. I don't see him beating a Roy Jones or BHopkins at middleweight. Julian Jackson was the hardest one punch puncher I EVER SEEN. He wasn't the greatest boxer but definitely the hardest hitter at that weight class.
I still haven't ... ( 3 weeks ago by tentwo70)
I still haven't seen a fighter score so many legit ONE PUNCH ko's in a career and against pretty good comp. It's good he was a little flawed ohterwise he it wouldn't have been fair.
If Robinson had the ... ( 3 weeks ago by IronDynamite89)
If Robinson had the training and the knowledge the boxers get and has this time i think he still would be the best p4p fighter. I am not saying the hardest hitter. But jackson and robinson where not far from each other both great p4p fighter
Jackson is the best ... ( 3 weeks ago by fonseca71)
Jackson is the best one punch KO guy I ever seen, but he does a lot of things wrong. He lunges forward like a lot of Mexican fighters. I can see why he's lost. If Mayweather Jr. could take his punch he could beat Jackson. Jackson's jab is Ok.
bullshit some are ... ( 3 weeks ago by venerable)
bullshit some are born with it, but there are a lot of ways to increase your punching power
Punching power ... ( 3 weeks ago by furmountain21)
Punching power comes from the lower body...from the legs and the torque in the hips. You can increase punching power to a certian extent, but some guys are natural power punchers.
Some of these ... ( 3 weeks ago by coxscorner)
Some of these comments are absurd and so uninformed they look like joke posts. If Ray Robinson had "modern training and knowledge", haha. Robinson had everything. He was a master. Today's fighters have a career of less than 50 fights, Robinson had 4 times as many pro fights. Robinson fought more often, fought better fighters, had more experience and was just as supremely conditioned as any modern fighter and fought 15 rounds not 12. He could do everything better overall, speed, power, technique.
I agree, though ... ( 3 weeks ago by APACOLYPSEPOW)
I agree, though modern training would even make him more "sweet". 12 rounds would mean Ray wouldn't have to pace himself as much, and more likely to take your head off early.
modern training can ... ( 3 weeks ago by foxydn4)
modern training can improve punch power but you got to be honest; julian jackson was a natural hitter. i can't remember seeing anyone hit as hard at light middle or middle; and it'll be a long time till we see someone like him again. i'm suprised he didn't kill anyone. he could knock a wall down.
9 times out of 10, ... ( 3 weeks ago by SalvyMic)
9 times out of 10, Tommy would have cleaned Jackson's clock. He was an absolute killer. But that 10th time, Jackson would put Tommy down for the count and then some. Tommy would run into something atomic and he'd go down and stay down in that 10th fight. Something more even, though, would have been Jackson vs. Vargas. Bombs away.
This is how you put ... ( 3 weeks ago by SalvyMic)
This is how you put Sugar Ray Robinson in proper perspective: he has more knockouts than most top guys these days have fights. Julian Jackson had that god-given supernatural power that probably would have coldcocked most heavyweights. People are right, had he had a chin to go along with that power, he'd still be the champion to this day. It just wouldn't have been fair. Epic poems would have been written about him.
i would've liked to ... ( 3 weeks ago by foxydn4)
i would've liked to see jackson v mugabi. hearns wouldn't have got to julian 9 times out of 10. theyd've got 5 1st round ko's a piece. jackson v hagler would've been a war as well.

If McCallum can knockout Jackson, then so could Robinson, Leonard, Hearns, Hagler and Duran
anyone vs the hawk ... ( 2 days ago by josehernandez08)
anyone vs the hawk could be a pick. he could knock out anyone in the first round. and anyone the cought the hawk early could get him. pound for pound one of the greateast punchers of all time.
